September Stakes Betting Odds

Kalpana hasn’t registered a victory this season, although the Andrew Balding-trained charge has been knocking on the door. The four-year-old has the highest rating in the field for the September Stakes and there could be plenty to come. The nearest contender could be Giavellotto and the six-year-old has also produced some impressive performances.

There’s then a big jump in the prices to Arabian Crown, with the four-year-old having been successful last time out. Military Academy has raced four times this term without any success, with Palladium another four-year-old who could prosper over the distance. We’re intrigued to see how the betting market plays out for this weekend encounter.

2025 September Stakes Betting Tips

Kalpana could be due a victory after going close in all three races this term. Andrew Balding saw his charge finish third out of nine runners at the Curragh. He was then sent off as the 5/6 favourite in the Pretty Polly Stakes before being beaten by Whirl over one mile and two furlongs. Perhaps he’ll benefit from a longer distance in this encounter.

There was plenty to like about Kalpana’s most recent performance. The 15/2 shot came desperately close to beating short-priced favourite Calandagan where there was only a length between the pair. That came in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes, with that being over one mile and four furlongs.

Giavellotto is a six-year-old with rock solid credentials and Marco Botti will be confident of a strong performance this weekend. The horse was last seen finishing third out of seven runners in the Betfred Coronation Cup. That was a competitive Group 1 encounter at Epsom, with that coming after an April race at Meydan in the Sheema Classic.

Arabian Crown was a winner in his last outing and a repeat from the four-year-old could be on the cards. Charlie Appleby will hope his horse can step up in class after a nice effort at Windsor when fending off three other runners. Previously to this came a disappointing performance at Goodwood when finishing deal last in August.

2023 Unibet September Stakes Tips

Israr has been backed from 4/1 to 2/1 at the time of writing, with punters warming to the four-year-old despite carrying more weight than the majority of runners in the field. Two months ago, the horse won the Princess of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket over one mile and four furlongs, with the runner beating 1/3 favourite Adayar into second place.

Previously to this, there was a second-placed finish behind Quickthorn in the Race to the Ebor Grand Cup Stakes, with the horse finishing second in the Al Rayyan Stakes at Newbury when finding Haskoy too strong for him. Bay Bridge could be the one that proves too strong this time around and the five-year-old has some solid credentials.

Sir Michael Stoute saddles a runner who was disappointing last time out when finishing fifth out of six horses in the Princess of Wales’s Stakes. However, we can make excuses considering that the horse stumbled at the start of the encounter, with the horse previously finishing second to Luxembourg in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh.

New London’s previous performance was in Germany when running at Hoppegarten in the Westminster 133rd Grosser Preis von Berlin, with the horse finishing fifth in a competitive Group 1 race. The horse ran previously at Newmarket when finishing third as the 11/10 favourite in the Fred Archer Stakes and perhaps we can oppose that selection.
