2025 Tattersalls Gold Cup Betting Tips

Los Angeles was able to score at The Curragh earlier this month and perhaps the horse can deliver the goods in the Tattersalls Gold Cup. The runner was sent off as the 10/11 favourite in the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes before claiming a narrow victory, having finished ninth in a field of eleven when competing in the Champion Stakes back in October.

White Birch was the horse that was narrowly edged out in that former encounter and will be looking to reverse the form. John Joseph Murphy previously saw his runner enjoy a consecutive hat-trick of successes. All of those wins came at The Curragh and that includes a three-length triumph in May where Auguste Rodin was beaten into second.

Kalpana has landed three successive wins leading into this race, with Andrew Balding saddling the 100/30 favourite in the Fillies and Mares’ Stakes last October. That was a flashy performance in October over one mile, three and a half furlongs. That came after a success on the all-weather at Kempton Park after previously obliging at Hamilton.

Ghostwriter finished fourth last time out and could be a decent each-way selection for trainer Clive Cox. However, Anmaat might be worth taking on at a similar price. The horse was able to stun everyone when scoring at odds of 40/1. That was in the Champion Stakes at Ascot and perhaps there could be even more to come from this runner.

2023 Tattersalls Gold Cup Tips

Bay Bridge is a horse who was last seen running at Longchamp Racecourse, with the five-year-old turning out for Sir Michael Stoute in the Prix Ganay on 30 April. He was involved in a close finish with eventual winner Iresine and runner-up Simca Mille, with the charge having previously won the Qipco Champion Stakes on 15 October when beating Adayar by a narrow margin.

Adayar will be bidding for revenge when the same two horse clash at The Curragh once again, with Charlie Appleby saddling a horse that was recently seen running at Newmarket in the bet365 Gordon Richards Stakes over one mile and two furlongs. The stamina of the horse was particularly impressive when beating Anmaat and the latter is likely to be involved here.

Anmaat is trained by Owen Burrows and there was a victory at Longchamp in the Qatar Prix Dollar on 1 October 2022, with jockey Jim Crowley giving the horse a tremendous spin over one mile and two furlongs on very soft ground. That was preceded by a win in the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes on 6 August at Haydock Park.

Aidan O’Brien has Point Lonsdale running in this encounter although perhaps the Irish trainer will have more success with Luxembourg in this race. The four-year-old was sent off in the Coolmore Stud Sottsass Irish EBF Mooresbridge Stakes as the 10/11 favourite, with the runner previously finishing seventh in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
