Wolverhampton Racecourse has been in operation since 1825, with the course being redeveloped in 1993 when it became the first track to have floodlights.

The installation of floodlights meant that Wolverhampton has been able to show evening meetings and the meetings nearly always go ahead due to the fact that the course has an all-weather track.

Since 1999, Wolverhampton Racecourse has been owned by Arena Leisure, with the single Polytrack surface being laid down in 2004 meaning that the course only holds flat all weather races.

There are several high-profile races at Wolverhampton Racecourse, with the Lady Wulfrana Stakes being a Listed flat horse race and horses aged four or over are permitted to enter.

This is a fast run race over seven furlongs, with the event taking place every March and the race has been in operation since 2002. Air Mail was the first winner, while Border Music and Dunelight are horses that have been victorious on two occasions.

Wolverhampton Racecourse is one of the leading courses in Britain and you will find 80 horse racing fixtures taking place, while there are also several music events.

Due to Wolverhampton having an all-weather track, it means that the course hosts several races that contribute to the All Weather Championships, with this tournament created over twenty years ago.
