Hong Kong Mile Betting Odds
We’ve got an open look at the top of the betting for the Hong Kong Mile, with My Wish and Galaxy Patch regarded as having a similar chance of securing a victory. The former has twice been successful at Sha Tin in recent times, although proved to be underwhelming in a recent outing. The latter was able to score in Japan in the latest effort and could be coming to the boil at the right time.
The six-year-old might be a popular choice although we can’t discount Voyage Bubble who proved to be successful twelve months ago. The horse was able to run well when finishing a length and a half behind Romantic Warrior, with Notable Speech and Embroidery also prime contenders for this big money race.

2025 Hong Kong Mile Betting Tips My Wish has been a serial operator at Sha Tin this season and the horse fluffed his lines last time out. The five-year-old was sent off as the strong favourite in the Jockey Club Mile at odds of 2/5 but could only manage fourth although this was preceded by consecutive wins. There was a Celebration Cup success at the end of September and then came a Sha Tin Trophy win.
Galaxy Patch could kick on from a recent Sha Tin success where My Wish was beaten by a length as the horses finished in a pile. That came after sixth in the Sha Tin Trophy, with an April effort seeing the runner end up fifth in the Champions Mile. The horse also ran in the Champion’s Trophy where there was a second-placed finish.
Voyage Bubble could retain his crown if he lines up here. There was a second placed finish behind Romantic Warrior last time out, with that coming after a disappointing twelfth in the previous showing. There was a success over one mile and four furlongs at the end of May, so it comes down to whether speed can match the stamina.
Notable Speech has been successful at Woodbine and Del Mar in recent showings. The latest success was in the Breeders’ Cup Mile where the 13/5 favourite was able to win by a length and a half. That came after previously succeeding in the Woodbine Mile Stakes and the 2/5 favourite was able to score by a length and a half in the end.
2024 Hong Kong Mile Tips As the name suggests, the Hong Kong Mile is run over a distance of one mile and there’s a huge purse up for grabs when it comes to this Sha Tin encounter. Eight-year-old Golden Sixty was in the winners’ enclosure twelve months ago and perhaps Soul Rush boasts the strongest credentials to win the 2024 renewal after some smart performances.
The Yasotoshi Ikee-trained runner was able to land a victory at Kyoto in mid-November, with a two and a half length success coming over a mile and this came after a second-placed finish at the same course in October. Previously to this, the horse ran well when finishing third in a race which was won by the impressive Romantic Warrior.
Tony Gollan trains Antino and the horse came close to a victory when running against Mr Brightside at Flemington last month, with this coming in the Champions Mile and that was after a success at Caulfield in the Toorak Handicap where an astonishing six and a half length success was registered.
Galaxy Patch has been running exclusively at Sha Tin and the latest effort saw the horse finish third out of nine runners when failing to oblige as the odds-on favourite in the Jockey Club Mile. Previously to this, there was a win in the Sha Tin Trophy where the horse was able to land a victory as the 11/10 favourite.
2023 Hong Kong Mile Tips Golden Sixty is not easily beaten and that explains why the horse is trading as betting favourite to win the Hong Kong Mile. The runner has won six of his previous seven encounters although this one defeat did come in last year’s renewal when Californian Spangle was able to oblige with a victory.
More recently, the eight-year-old has scored a consecutive hat-trick of wins at Sha Tin, with the latest success coming in the Champions Mile on 30 April. Back in February, the horse won the Hong Kong Gold Cup and this came after the Stewards’ Cup, although there could be merit in looking beyond the favourite for this race.
Californian Spangle was fourth out of five runners in the recent Bochk Private Wealth Jockey Club Mile when being sent off as the 7/10 favourite, although the fact that this horse was able to win the Hong Kong Mile last year marks him out as a potential contender this time around. We saw the horse win the Sha Tin Trophy over one mile in the middle of October.
Beauty Eternal won the Jockey Club Mile on 19 November and the horse has won three of his previous four outings. The only time that the Australian-bred runner has been beaten was in the Sha Tin Trophy where the 4/5 favourite could only finish third to California Spangle, although this runner has to have each-way claims this time around.
2022 Hong Kong Mile Tips There could be fireworks when the 2022 Hong Kong Mile takes place on Sunday 11 December, with Golden Sixty bidding to make history at Sha Tin by securing a third consecutive victory in this race at the Hong Kong International meeting. There is plenty to like about the chances of a horse who could be coming to his peak at the age of seven.
There was plenty to like about the runner’s performance in the Bochk Private Wealth Jockey Club Mile where Golden Sixty was actually available to back at odds-against, although he was able to beat odds-on favourite California Spangle on that occasion. There wasn’t much between the two horses, with a neck separating the two runners.
Golden Sixty had previously chinned the same horse at Sha Tin back in April, although the younger pretender will now have his eyes on that one mile crown. The four-year-old certainly has time on his side to rack up the prize money, with the Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy having been landed on 16 October.
If you’re looking for a horse trading at bigger racing odds from an each-way perspective, perhaps Schell Meister could be worthy of consideration. The four-year-old is available at a decent price and might come on from a fifth-placed finish at Hanshin when running in the Mile Championship.
2021 Hong Kong Mile Betting Tips The 2021 Hong Kong Mile is one of the biggest horse races on the Asian horse racing calendar , with the leading runners from all over the world lining up for a chance to scoop a major cash prize. Golden Sixty won the 2020 renewal as a five-year-old and the horse looks even better for the encounter a year down the line, with the bookies taking few chances.
Golden Sixty Enjoying a Massive Winning Run This is a sensational horse who has been scoring successes at Sha Tin since October 2019. The six-year-old recently returned from a fairly large break to claim the spoils when winning the Group 2 Jockey Club Mile, with the runner proving too strong for the field and the favourite was sent off at a prohibitive 3/20 before illustrating his class.
Back in April, Golden Sixty was a short favourite once again when winning at odds of 1/5 to win the Group 1 Champions Mile, with this victory only coming by a head and More Than This ran a blinder in that encounter. However, the Hong Kong Mile favourite seems to find a way to win every time he turns out for a race.
Danon Kingly Could Be Main Danger to Favourite Many punters will want to try and oppose the favourite and there are plenty of other decent runners in the field. This includes Danon Kingly and this horse looks to be the most serious pretender to Golden Sixty, with the Japanese entrant looking to have the sort of credentials to run a big race at Sha Tin.
In the Mainichi Okan at Tokyo Racecourse on 10 October, the horse ran into second place behind German winner Schnell Meister, while there was previously that amazing 47/1 success when the horse claimed a victory in the Yasuda Kinen at the same track. If he was able to beat Gran Alegria who was similar odds to Golden Sixty, why not the same thing happen this time around?
2020 Hong Kong Mile Betting This Hong Kong Mile race appears on the Hong Kong International Races racecard, with this race having been in operation since 1991 and it was landed by a horse called Beauty Generation in 2017 and 2018, while 2019 brought success for Admire Mars.
Can Admire Mars Win Back-to-Back Hong Kong Mile Races? You have to respect Admire Mars’ chances in this massive one mile encounter considering that he produced a world-class performance to win for trainer Yasuo Tomomichi and it was the first success for a three-year-old in this race since Lucky Owners triumphed in 2003, with the horse potentially improved for the run this time around.
Since narrowly beating Waikuku a year ago, it has hardly been the ideal preparation for the Junko Kondo-owned horse, although there have been recent runs in Japan, namely at the Kyoto and Hanshin racecourses where the horse has got some miles into his legs.
Golden Sixty Looks Dangerous Favourite for Hong Kong Mile Golden Sixty has been all the rage when it comes to the Hong Kong Mile and the most recent success was on 22 November when landing a victory in the recent Jockey Club Mile, with this being a Group 2 encounter which could be a big marker for this race.
It has now been ten consecutive wins for the KW Lui-trained charge, with the five-year-old making Sha Tin is native home thanks to so many victories and you can see why the bookies are reluctant to take on a horse that could be seriously dangerous in this race.
It’s possible that this isn’t just a two-horse race, with Waikuku having finished a very close second to Admire Mars in the most recent renewal and Beauty Generation is the other potential contender, with the veteran returning to the track and hoping to make it a hat-trick of victories in this race.
