2025 Royal Lodge Stakes Betting Tips

Montreal has been a classy operator so far this season and could be all the rage when it comes to the Royal Lodge Stakes. The latest effort came at Leopardstown when the 6/4 shot registered a highly impressive eight-length success. In a one-mile maiden race, the horse led from the front and never looked troubled, with Aidan O’Brien’s charge now the strong favourite.

Previously to this performance, the horse finished third when sent off as the 10/11 favourite in a maiden race at Leopardstown. Alparslan is a viable contender and Karl Burke’s runner has done everything right in two showings so far. There was a recent success at the Curragh in mid-September when the 5/4 favourite was able to win over six and a half furlongs.

This came after a success as a 14/1 shot at Leicester, with Ancient Egypt having also obliged for a couple of victories last time out. Charlie Johnston saddles a horse who was last seen in the winners’ enclosure at Goodwood, with that coming over a mile. There was previously a success at Beverley in July and this horse looks capable of hitting the frame.

O’Brien could end up winning the race with his second string. Daytona landed a couple of victories before finishing third at Deauville in a more competitive race at August. The 7/10 favourite was unable to oblige in the Prix Francois Boutin, with that coming after successes at Naas and Gowran Park. Endorsement could be another one for the shortlist.

2024 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes Tips

Aidan O’Brien is a legendary trainer and he could hold all the keys when it comes to the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, with The Lion In Winter set to line up as favourite to win this one mile encounter. There was a victory at the Curragh towards the end of July which was followed by a success at York over the same distance of seven furlongs.

Henri Matisse has recorded three consecutive wins for O’Brien this season and looks a more backable each-way price than the favourite, with all of his performances coming at the Curragh although we did see the horse beaten as the odds-on favourite when running in the Vincent O’Brien National Stakes last time out.

Field Of Gold has clocked consecutive wins and the John & Thady Gosden-trained runner was able to score at Sandown Park in the competitive Solario Stakes. That was over seven furlongs against Matauri Bay after previously winning a maiden stakes race at Newmarket although some might prefer the chances of Luther instead.

Puppet Master is another O’Brien runner and there was a victory at Galway by four lengths at the beginning of August, with Bay City Roller a more interesting contender after racking up three straight wins. The latest success came at Doncaster when scoring in a small field and that came in the Betfred Champagne Stakes.

2023 Royal Lodge Stakes Tips

Capulet has been installed at the head of the market for the Royal Lodge Stakes, with the horse finishing second out of seven runners last time out. Having been sent off at odds of 9/1, the runner was able to finish just half a length behind 8/15 favourite Diego Velazquez, having previously won an opening race when obliging at Dundalk.

Perhaps it’s worth chancing a runner at a bigger price and Aablan ticks a number of boxes, with a smart win coming at Newmarket back in July. This was a Maiden Stakes victory which was followed up by a triumph in the Solario Stakes at Sandown Park over seven furlongs. The Charlie Appleby-trained charge was able to prosper by a neck on that occasion.

Al Musmak is a genuine contender and there have been two victories in the three outings so far this season, with the first of these coming at Ascot when winning a Novice Stakes at racing odds of 9/1 under the ride of David Egan. The horse was then able to finish second in a Listed Race at Ascot before a victory in the Ascendant Stakes at Haydock Park and this runner certainly has claims.

Los Angeles has only had one outing this term although that ended in a victory and there was a two length win in a Maiden Stakes at Tipperary, with more to potentially come from this runner. Ghostwriter could also go well for trainer Clive Cox and obliged as the 10/11 favourite in a recent Novice Stakes encounter at Ascot.

Lusail Betting Favourite to Win 2021 Lodge Stakes

Lusail has had a brilliant flat racing season and it wouldn’t be a big surprise if the Richard Hannon-trained runner was able to secure a fourth consecutive victory, with the two-year-old having already triumphed twice at Newmarket when winning at the July course, while there was a further win in the Gimcrack Stakes at York Racecourse.

That win took place on 20 August under the ridership of Pat Dobbs and Lusail is likely to be a warm order, with the bookies offering an attractive each-way price about a horse that looks reasonably likely to make the frame in this encounter.

Who Are the Other Favourites for Lodge Stakes 2021?

Austrian Theory hasn’t won any of his past three races although it should be borne in mind that the Mark Johnston-trained charge has been pitched in higher grade encounters, with the horse running a big race at 18/1 in the recent Solario Stakes at Sandown Racecourse which was a Group 3 contest.

Similarly, Joe Fanning rode the horse to a credible third placed finish where the horse was sent off at 16/1 and it’s clear that the runner has the ability to run a big race here, with the bookies clocking on to the fact that he has been running in esteemed company.

Bayside Boy only has a couple of runs under his belt this season although the Roger Varian-trained runner has bagged a victory at Newbury in a ten-runner race before moving up in class before narrowly losing to Masekela in a listed race.

It was the second win of the season for Masekela after winning a Novices’ Stakes at Goodwood back in May, with the horse having also finished second in the bet365 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket when running on the July course and he could be set for a big race here.
