Manifesto Novices Chase Betting Odds

There are several horses trading at single figure betting odds when it comes to the Manifesto Novices' Chase on Thursday 3 April. Nicky Henderson has a talented runner in the form of Jango Baie, with the six-year-old having won twice this season and the horse might well go off as favourite for this encounter although there are other potential contenders.

Impaire Et Passe runs for Willie Mullins and the seven-year-old has also bagged a couple of wins this term, with Croke Park having the potential to go well for Gordon Elliott. Jango Baie was a winner at the recent Cheltenham Festival and will hope to land another notable success at Aintree. Sent off as a 5/1 shot in the Arkle Challenge Trophy, the Nicky Henderson-trained charge was able to fend off the challenge of favourite Majborough, with the six-year-old able to secure a victory by just under a length in the end.

Impaire Et Passe was last seen running at Leopardstown in the Dublin Racing Festival, with the horse being no match for winner Ballyburn after the latter was able to triumph by ten lengths. Previously to this, there were wins at Limerick and Fairyhouse, with the same horse able to win the William Hill Aintree Hurdle twelve months ago.

Croke Park is a Gigginstown horse who was able to outperform Impaire Et Passe in the Grade One Ladbrokes Novice Chase, with the runner potentially a bit of each-way value considering that there’s been a strong track record. A win at Leopardstown came on Boxing Day, with a successive double at Fairyhouse also being scored.

Handstands is bidding for a fourth successive success and the Ben Pauling-trained charge has been able to land some notable wins. The six-year-old was able to beat Jango Baie in the Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase over two miles and four furlongs on heavy ground at Sandown, with previous successes coming at Ffos Las and Sandown Park.

2024 Manifesto Novices’ Chase Tips

Grey Dawning has been racking up the victories this season and this horse has been installed as the market leader when it comes to the Manifesto Novices’ Chase. The seven-year-old has been the subject of a gamble leading up to this race, with the latest success coming in the Turners Novices’ Chase where a two length victory was enjoyed.

This came after a win at Warwick in early January, with that success at the Cheltenham Festival coming by two lengths where Ginny’s Destiny was touched off and the latter surely stands a reasonable chance of landing a triumph. Paul Nicholls will have confidence after the eight-year-old won three times coming into the Festival.

Corbetts Cross can also be added into the mix and the horse has landed a couple of victories this season, with Emmet Mullins saddling a runner who was a Cheltenham Festival winner. The victory in the National Hunt Challenge Cup was achieved by an amazing seventeen lengths where favourite Embassy Gardens was beaten well into second place.

Found A Fifty hasn’t been out of the first two in all five outings this season, with Gordon Elliott hoping that the seven-year-old can follow on from a bright performance at the Cheltenham Festival where the horse was beaten into second by Gaelic Warrior. There are lots of lively each-way contenders for this race.

2023 Manifesto Novices Chase Tips

We’re looking forward to a competitive 2023 Manifesto Novices Chase, with Jonbon likely to go off favourite to bounce back to winning ways. The seven-year-old found El Fabiolo too good in the Arkle Chase last month, although Nicky Henderson’s runner had previously scored a hat-trick of consecutive wins and could be returning to the winners’ enclosure.

Jonbon was a winner at the 2022 Grand National meeting when scoring in the Top Novices’ Hurdle by beating El Fabiolo by a neck, with the former capable of winning with a repeat performance and the horse was comfortably clear of the chasing pack when finishing second in the Arkle, although perhaps Stage Star can provide some food for thought after an impressive Cheltenham showing.

Paul Nicholls saw his runner claim a victory in the opening race on Day Three of the Cheltenham Festival when winning the Turners Novices’ Chase, with the seven-year-old able to oblige with a three-length victory, while the much-fancied Mighty Potter was only finishing third in the same race.

Banbridge finished second to El Fabiolo in the Irish Arkle Chase at Leopardstown and this ten-length defeat now looks like good form considering the latter’s performance at Cheltenham. Joseph O’Brien will hope the ground comes good for his charge and Complete Unknown has to be respected after winning a handicap chase at Kempton Park.
