July Stakes Betting Odds

There are ten runners and riders lining up at Newmarket for the Kingdom of Bahrain July Stakes, with Whistlejacket likely to go off as favourite for this six furlong encounter. This is a high quality Group 2 encounter, with Rashabar looking like a lively contender and the Brian Meehan-trained charge was victorious in his last outing.

Electrolyte has a strong chance of landing a victory for trainer Archie Watson and has a winner and runner-up appearance this season, with Ain’t Nobody having one of the highest ratings in the field. The Kevin Ryan-trained charge has secured back to back successes this term, with Columnist having solid credentials too.

2024 July Stakes Tips

There’s an action-packed card at Newmarket on Thursday 11 July, with the second race of the day taking place in the form of the Kingdom of Bahrain July Stakes. This Group 2 encounter will have Whistlejacket lining up as the likely favourite, with Aidan O’Brien saddling a horse that has had three outings this term.

The two-year-old finished fourth at Royal Ascot last time out, with the 10/11 favourite running a solid enough race in the Norfolk Stakes. This came after a success at the Curragh in early May, with this coming after the horse made a debut at the same course when landing a runner-up position on that occasion.

Rashabar is trained by Brian Meehan and there was a strong performance at Ascot when the 80/1 shot stunned everybody when winning the Coventry Stakes at the Royal meeting. That was a shock success after previously finishing second out of nine runners at Chester, although Electrolyte could also run a big race.

Archie Watson saddles a two-year-old who was 40/1 when running in the Coventry Stakes before finishing second. This came after a success at Ayr in a small field in early June, with Ain’t Nobody the only horse that can boast back-to-back successes, with Kevin Ryan training a horse that prospered in the Windsor Castle Stakes.

2023 July Stakes Tips

Richard Fahey will be searching for some winners at the Newmarket July meeting and perhaps he will be victorious with Malc in the Bahrain Turf Club July Stakes. The two-year-old has achieved a victory and a second placing from two races so far, with the runner sent off as a 66/1 no-hoper in the Norfolk Stakes before being able to secure a runner-up spot.

Randomly, the horse was actually beaten by 150/1 American raider Valiant Force, although the fact that Malc beat the rest of the field could stand the runner in good stead. There had previously been a Novice Stakes win at Carlisle although this is a tough assignment and Mountain Bear has a victory to his name.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained horse is just one of several from the same stable and claimed an impressive win at The Curragh to score in an Irish Maiden, with the horse obliging at 4/1 on that occasion. Chief Mankato runs for trainer Charles Hills and came through to land a success in his only outing at Windsor when obliging at 18/1.

Lake Forest and Purosangue also come into the race after landing a victory last time out. The former runs for trainer William Haggas and won a Novice Stakes over six furlongs at Haydock Park, while the latter was able to oblige at the same course over a five furlong distance and that was a four-length victory which could be repeated.
