Aidan O’Brien is no stranger to success at Chester Racecourse and the Irish handler has a couple of lively contenders when it comes to the Cheshire Oaks. Giselle and Minnie Hauk are both talented operators, with the pair making a seasonal debut in this encounter over one mile, three and a half furlongs which is a real test of stamina.

Ralph Beckett could also have a couple of lively contenders in the form of That’s Amore and Revoir, with the former having won on her most recent performance and the same applies to the latter. Secret Of Love has earned a decent amount of experience, with Perfect Your Craft also successful in her most recent showing.

2025 Cheshire Oaks Betting Tips

There’s little to separate Giselle and Minnie Hauk in the betting market for the Cheshire Oaks. The pair are trained by Aidan O’Brien and the former was last seen performing well at the Curragh back in October. However, the 10/11 favourite was beaten into third place and that came after a victory against fifteen other runners at the Irish track in the same month.

Minnie Hauk could go well and finished the previous season with a victory. That came at Leopardstown in the middle of October when the filly was able to beat a field of eight runners although the victory was only by half a length. Previously to that, there had been a smart showing at Cork when finishing second in a field of fifteen horses.

That’s Amore could be a viable challenge to the first two in the betting. Ralph Beckett saddles a horse that was successful last season. That came at Newbury at the end of October where the 11/10 favourite was able to oblige by six lengths. Over one mile on heavy ground, the contender was able to make all and land the spoils.

Beckett has a couple of other decent contenders. Likealot has only been seen once and that came on the all-weather at Chelmsford, with the 6/5 favourite fending off six other challengers to land the spoils. Revoir also obliged last time out and that came at Nottingham in the middle of October to secure a victory.

2024 Cheshire Oaks Tips

Dylan Browne McMonagle is on board Galileo Dame and there was plenty to like about the horse’s performance when the runner last made an appearance. The horse was triumphant at Leopardstown when beating six other horses over one mile and two furlongs. This victory was achieved on heavy ground and there could be more to come here.

The horse previously performed well at Gowran Park when finishing second out of eleven runners, with Forest Fairy claiming the spoils at Wolverhampton in the latest outing. Over one mile and four furlongs, the runner was able to score a six-length victory and a repeat of that performance could help Rossa Ryan steer home this charge.

Port Fairy lines up in a bid to secure a second successive victory, with Aidan O’Brien training a horse who landed a win at Dundalk Racecourse. Sent off at odds of 7/2, Ryan Moore was able to steer home a charge that claimed a victory by a neck. Beeley could also put in a solid showing for John & Thady Gosden and looks like each-way value.

Lasting Love and Seaward are not without a chance, with the former running for Andrew Balding and the horse finished third out of fourteen runners at Newbury in April, with the latter returning to the track after 200 days and the three-year-old is the only horse in the field that actually has an official rating.

2023 Cheshire Oaks Tips

We’re raring to go for the Cheshire Oaks and there’s an increasing amount of hype surrounding the market leader for this race. Savethelastdance was impressive a month ago and running up to a similar mark might well see the horse in the winners’ enclosure for the second time this season. The victory at Leopardstown in early April meant that he was immediately installed as favourite to win.

Wayne Lordan was on board a horse that wasn’t anticipated to deliver a victory in a Fillies Maiden although she was able to oblige at 20/1 and won by two lengths against Boogie Woogie and Azazat who were the market leaders. There could be more to come from this horse who has a mares’ allowance although Luckin Brew could be a good alternative.

Frankie Dettori will be on board a runner who was fairly impressive as a two-year-old, with the horse last seen finishing second at Pontefract back in the middle of October when losing by a neck to favourite Local Dynasty, although there was previously a win on the all-weather at Kempton in early September in a fillies’ race.

Ashtanga is another talented filly who was triumphant at Nottingham last autumn and there could be plenty of progression from a mare who is trained by Freddie & Martyn Meade. The horse won by nearly three lengths and the trip should suit a horse who is ridden by Oisin Murphy, with Sirona another one for the shortlist.
