We're excited for Saturday's William Hill Denman Chase which takes place over nearly three miles at Newbury Racecourse this weekend. Jango Baie is a talented seven-year-old who could be the one to beat, with Nicky Henderson's charge having won on his seasonal debut. However, Haiti Couleurs has regularly proved his stamina and could be a better alternative.

Rebecca Curtis' nine-year-old will be able to run well on testing ground conditions, with L'Homme Presse having started the season with a couple of runner-up spots. Venetia Williams' charge might split the first two in the betting, although it's a tall order to see the eleven-year-old being able to finish ahead of them.

2026 Denman Chase Betting Tips

Jango Baie is the youngest horse in the William Hill Denman Chase on Saturday and probably the most likely winner. The seven-year-old was able to score at Ascot in November, with the 9/4 favourite able to oblige in the 1965 Ladbrokes Chase over two miles and five furlongs. There was everything to like about that nine-length success.

The runner was then sent off as the joint-favourite in the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day. The horse finished fourth on that occasion although landed in a heap with the other three runners narrowly ahead of him. Nevertheless, Haiti Couleurs will be preferred by some, with Rebecca Curtis' charge coming up with the goods on a regular basis.

The nine-year-old has excellent stamina and that was on display at Chepstow in the Welsh Grand National. The 5/1 shot was able to score over three miles, six and a half furlongs on good to soft ground, with this success coming after being pulled up at Haydock. However, there had previously been a win at Newbury in early November in a hurdle race.

L'Homme Presse has achieved successive runner-up spots this term. Venetia Williams has enjoyed plenty of success with this horse and will hope he can still achieve notable successes as an eleven-year-old. He ran well at Cheltenham towards the end of January in the Betfair Cotswold Chase and has been respected by the bookies here.

2025 Denman Chase Tips

Bravemansgame hasn’t quite been hitting the highs recently, although the horse racing betting sites have installed the horse as favourite to win the Denman Chase this weekend. The horse wasn’t able to feature at the business end of the King George VI Chase, with this coming after a third-placed finish in the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park.

Djelo is an interesting contender that could be a backable each-way price, with the horse finishing second out of six runners at Windsor Racecourse, with the runner well behind eventual winner Protektorat. That came after previously beating the same horse by six lengths, with the horse narrowly missing out in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter.

Hitman registered consecutive runner-up spots this season, with Paul Nicholls saddling a nine-year-old who was able to finish second out of ten runners at Ascot last month. That was over two miles and five furlongs and it came after a fine performance in the Old Roan Limited Handicap Chase over two miles and four furlongs.

Le Patron was unable to deliver the goods last time out, with this coming after a smart performance at Newbury at the end of November. That was a seven-length success in a handicap chase over two miles and four furlongs, with Ga Law another runner who has to be respected and the seven-year-old has previously performed well.

2024 Denman Chase Tips

Shishkin will be bidding to make it third time lucky when it comes to this weekend’s Betfair Denman Chase, with the ten-year-old having failed to show his best form so far this season. Having refused to race at Ascot last autumn, the ten-year-old was sent off as one of the favourites in the King George VI Chase before falling in this Boxing Day encounter.

In fairness, the horse was travelling well when stumbling in this showpiece race and there’s the chance to make amends in this high-profile encounter. Trainer Nicky Henderson will hope that Shishkin can enjoy a clean round of jumping and the runner performed well when finishing second at the Cheltenham Festival before triumphing at Aintree.

Protektorat has been away from the winners’ enclosure this season although the horse has managed to run well, with the latest effort being a runner-up performance when finishing second behind L’Homme Presse at Lingfield Park. It was a solid enough showing over two miles and six furlongs on soft ground, with the horse a potential alternative here.

Back in December, Protektorat was third out of six runners at Cheltenham Racecourse, while Hitman is the other horse that has an outside chance of landing a victory. The horse returned after wind surgery to finish well down the order in a recent encounter, finishing ninth out of thirteen runners over two miles, four and a half furlongs.

2023 Betfair Denman Chase Tips

Hitman was sent off at 11/1 in the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, with the seven-year-old getting pulled up in the race although there were mitigating circumstances for that performance and perhaps we will see the runner back in the winners’ enclosure here. The horse previously won a chase at Haydock Park when obliging over two miles and five furlongs against three other runners.

Eldorado Allen has run three times this season without a victory, although the bookies are affording the Joe Tizzard-trained charge plenty of respect and perhaps represents each-way value. The horse performed well in the King George VI Chase when finishing fourth and there was also a runner-up spot behind Protektorat.

There was also a second-placed finish behind Bravemansgame in the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase, with Fanion D’Estruval another main contender according to the betting market. It’s hard to be too confident about a runner who has failed to win any of his previous five clashes, with Venetia Williams’ charge having finished third in the William Hill Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase.

Does He Know was an impressive winner of the Jewson Handicap Chase and that was over three miles, three-and-a-half furlongs at Cheltenham Racecourse on 13 November. It appears that wind surgery has been beneficial and it could be worth looking for the best each-way terms if you are interested in backing this runner.
