There’s a big field lining up in the Carnarvon Stakes at Newbury Racecourse, with twenty runners set to go to post in this six furlong dash. 2025 Carnarvon Stakes Betting Tips

Whistlejacket is certainly an interesting contender for the Carnarvon Stakes, with Aidan O’Brien’s charge potentially a cut above the opposition at Newbury over six furlongs. The horse might be carrying more weight than any other runner in the field, although there was plenty to like about a recent success at Navan at the end of April.

That came after a solid showing at the Breeders’ Cup meeting, with the horse only two lengths off the pace in the Juvenile Turf Sprint, with that coming after a September runner-up performance at Newmarket. There were back-to-back successes at Meydan in January and February, with that coming before a sixth-placed finish out of ten at Newmarket in early May. Almeraq was also bright as a two-year-old and there was a success at Yarmouth back in October, with this coming after a runner-up showing in the Maiden Stakes over six furlongs at Newbury.

2024 Carnarvon Stakes Tips

Relief Rally finished fourth last time out at Newbury when there were six runners although the three-year-old had previously displayed some smart form. There was a victory at York in August, with the horse obliging by a length in the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes, while the horse was also able to claim the spoils in the Super Sprint Stakes at Newbury.

That was a victory achieved against nineteen other runners, with the horse having previously run well in the Queen Mary Stakes when losing by a nose against Crimson Advocate. It suggests that the horse is the one to beat, although James’s Delight has performed well for trainer Clive Cox this season.

There was a success at Pontefract in early April when achieving a victory by six and a half lengths. Thus followed a disappointing effort at Newbury, although this was followed by a success at Newmarket where Two Tribes was beaten by a length and a quarter in the William Hill Bet In-Running Handicap over six furlongs.

Pocklington has achieved consecutive wins in his two races to date and the three-year-old could go well for Geoff Oldroyd, with both successes coming on the all-weather surface at Newcastle Racecourse. Adaay In Devon was second at Ascot out of ten runners in the Commonwealth Cup Trial Stakes over six furlongs.

2023 Carnarvon Stakes Tips

Noble Style has been enjoying some strong form and we shouldn’t be dismissive of a recent sixth place at Newmarket in early May. The three-year-old was after all competing in the 2000 Guineas and a midfield performance in this classic race is nothing to scoff at, with Charlie Appleby now hoping for a bright performance in a far less competitive race at York.

Although the horse was unable to find extra when asked the question on soft ground at Newmarket, the pace might not be so hot over six furlongs in the Carnarvon Stakes and there is plenty to like about the three consecutive wins that were landed at Ascot, Newmarket and York last season.

Shaquille has been a three-time winner already and is being respected by the horse racing betting sites, with the three-year-old having most recently won at Newmarket in early May. Sent off at 11/4 in the Howden Insurance Handicap, there was a six furlong victory on soft ground, with potentially more to come from a horse that has been in the winning habit.
