There is plenty to like about Pic D’Orhy and the horse racing betting sites are taking few chances when it comes to their odds about the ten-year-old. Paul Nicholls will be confident that the runner can claim the spoils in an encounter over two miles, four and a half furlongs, with this being the highest-rated horse in the field.

Nicholls also has another horse in the race, with Hitman a similar age to his stablemate and the nine-year-old was second on his seasonal debut. Martator is the other horse worth weighing up and the eight-year-old recorded successive wins for Venetia Williams earlier this season before finishing third in a most recent outing.

2025 Silviniaco Conti Chase Tips

Pic D’Orhy could end up winning this encounter comfortably, with a small field set to line up at Kempton Park for the Silviniaco Conti Chase. The ten-year-old produced the goods when scoring at Ascot towards the end of November, with the 4/9 chance landing a victory by over three lengths and a repeat could be on the cards here.

The horse appears to have benefitted from wind surgery after previously being pulled up in April when running in the Melling Chase, with the runner having claimed a success in the Betfair Ascot Chase over two miles and five furlongs. That was a notable five and a half length success and it would be no surprise to find a similar victory here.

Martator has claimed two wins this season, with Venetia Williams training a runner who was able to notch a success at Ascot in early November before returning to the same track and recording a win. Sent off as the 2/1 favourite in the Desert Orchid Chase, the horse found the two miles a little too stiff when finishing third.

Hitman is the other feasible winner of this encounter, with the nine-year-old having run brightly when finishing second out of five runners in the Old Roan Limited Handicap Chase. There was previously a third-placed finish in the bet365 Oaksey Chase although it’s been a long time since we saw the horse claim a victory.

2024 Silviniaco Conti Chase Tips

Pic D’Orhy has enjoyed a spate of victories during his career, with the Paul Nicholls-trained runner having landed victories at Aintree and Ascot in his last two appearances. There was a win in the Marsh Chase back in April when obliging at odds of 4/1, with a victory being achieved by over four lengths when beating Fakir D’oudairies.

Harry Cobden then rode the same horse to success in the Nirvana Spa 1965 Chase over two miles and five furlongs, although it could be a tough ordeal against Edwardstone and the latter has drummed up a couple of runner-up performances this season. Alan King saddles a horse that finished second to Jonbon in November before getting closer to the same horse in December.

Some might be deterred by the fact that Edwardstone has failed to win any of his previous five races, with Banbridge boasting a stronger track record and the latest victory came at Aintree where Saint Roi was beaten by a length and a half. There was also a smart performance at Leopardstown back in February when losing to El Fabiolo.

Notlongtillmay is bidding for a first victory of the season, with Adam Wedge on board an eight-year-old who could easily be among the first two home. There was a solid showing at November when finishing second out of fourteen runners at Cheltenham, with the horse previously performing well at Prestbury Park and has to be considered here.

2023 Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase Tips

The money has been coming for Pic D’Orhy and we’ve seen back-to-back wins for the eight-year-old this season. On 4 December, the horse lined up against six other runners at Huntingdon Racecourse and claimed a victory by beating favourite Millers Bank into second place, with Harry Cobden on board on that occasion.

Previously to this, there was a win in an Intermediate Chase at Newton Abbott, with the horse looking a better prospect since having a wind surgery op after a disappointing showing at Aintree Racecourse. Let’s not forget that the runner had previously won a Grade 2 Novices’ Chase at Kempton Park back in February.

Paint The Dream looks a decent prospect and Fergal O’Brien’s charge looked really impressive when landing a fourteen-length win in a Handicap Chase at Newbury Racecourse. A repeat of that performance could see the nine-year-old go really close and that is reflected in the relatively short betting odds.

Saint Calvados has been around the block a few times. It’s hard to get too much of a read from his last outing when finishing second in a two-runner race against Coole Cody. There was previously a win in the bet365 Oaksey Chase at Sandown Racecourse, with that sixteen-length win coming over two miles and six furlongs although age is a concern.
