Amirite runs for Henry de Bromhead and has the potential to make a big impression, with the eight-year-old operating at a similar price to Lets Go Champ, with Mister Policeman also trading at around the 10/1 mark and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Willie Mullins-trained runner was able to make an impression.

2024 Galway Plate Tips

We could have a big field lining up for the Galway Plate and it’s definitely a race that will take some winning. The runners and riders will compete over two miles, six and a half furlongs, with the bookies prepared to chalk up 8/1 the field at the time of writing. In Excelsis Deo and Perceval Legallois are both owned by JP McManus and they’re a similar price.

The former returns to the track after a previously solid campaign, with Harry Fry saddling a six-year-old who was sent off as the 3/1 favourite in the Silver Trophy Handicap Chase before claiming the spoils at Cheltenham. This came after a solid fifth-placed finish in the Plate Handicap Chase at the Festival.

Perceval Legallois had an interesting previous season that included a couple of falls along the way, although there was a solid second place in a novice handicap chase at Punchestown at the beginning of May. It was a solid showing although the horse had previously come tumbling down at Leopardstown in a previous encounter.

Amirite finished second last time out and the eight-year-old performed well at Kilbeggan when running well over three miles, one and a half furlongs. This came after landing fifth spot in the bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Sandown, with the same placing being achieved in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown.

2023 Galway Plate Tips

Kilcruit was well down the order on his last outing, with the horse last seen performing in May when finishing eleventh out of fifteen runners at Auteuil. However, punters might have taken note of the way in which the horse was able to secure a victory at the Punchestown Festival when obliging as the 11/4 favourite and that was a fifteen-length win.

Hollow Games has shone brightly in the past and the horse performed reasonably well when landing fourth place out of fourteen runners and this was a competitive handicap chase. Gordon Elliott will feel as though his horse can hit the frame, with the horse previously pulled up in the Arkle Trophy at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
