Warfield Mares Hurdle Betting Odds
Nurse Susan has been excellent in her previous two races and some might think she's a value bet to win the Warfield Mares Hurdle. Dan Skelton not only saddles the market leader for this race at Ascot, he also has Take No Chances in the race. There's not much between them in the betting, with the horses going over one mile, seven and a half furlongs.
Sunset Marquesa is a younger adversary and the Joe Tizzard-trained seven-year-old has run three times this season including a victory. Nicky Henderson could have the potential winner in Joyeuse, with the horse having landed successive runner-up spots this term. La Conquiere and Ooh Betty are others that could be in the final shake-up.

Nurse Susan has been finding form in the past couple of months. Sent off at odds of 13/2 at Cheltenham in mid-December, there was a success by nearly three lengths. That was over two miles, four and a half furlongs. Then came a New Year's success in the Unibet Mares' Hurdle, with the nine-year-old hitting the peak of her career.
Take No Chances is her stablemate, with the eight-year-old having three appearances this term. The runner was third out of seven at Newbury at the end of November, with this being a gallant effort in the Coral Long Distance Hurdle over three miles, half a furlong. There was previously a second placed finish in the bet365 Hurdle at Wetherby.
Sunset Marquesa is trained by Joe Tizzard, with the horse needing to find four lengths' improvement after being beaten by Nurse Susan by that distance. Previously to this, there was a success at Sandown in early December. The 11/8 favourite made no mistake over two miles and four furlongs, with success coming by over six lengths.
Joyeuse has achieved successive runner-up performances this term, with Nicky Henderson saddling a horse who was ninth last time out. She was somewhat out of her depth in a competitive handicap hurdle at Ascot, although there was previously a decent outing in a Beginners Chase at Exeter. Perhaps she could be worth considering each-way.
2025 BetMGM Mares' Hurdle Tips
The BetMGM Mares' Hurdle is one of the highlight races at Ascot on Saturday and it will be intriguing to see if Kargese lives up to her billing. The five-year-old has been demonstrating some strong form this term, with a victory coming at Punchestown in April and there have previously been other smart showings.
The horse performed well when finishing second to Sir Gino in a four-year-old Juvenile Hurdle back in April, while this came after a solid effort at Cheltenham. In the JCB Triumph Hurdle, the mare was only one and a half lengths behind eventual winner Majborough and perhaps she will record a victory at the Festival next March.
Take No Chances runs for Dan Skelton, with the latest effort coming at Cheltenham where the horse was able to finish third out of a field of twelve. This came after finding the going a bit tough at Newcastle when finishing fifth out of seven, while there was a smart win at Wetherby in the preceding race where a ten-length victory was recorded in the Mares’ Hurdle.
Casa No Mento is another seven-year-old who could go well for Nigel Twiston-Davies, with the horse landing a victory at Punchestown in early May. After this, the horse was pulled up at Kempton Park in October and there’s improvement that the horse needs to find when it comes to the most recent effort at Bangor-On-Dee.

West Balboa has a point to prove after failing to emerge with any credit at Ascot in December, although the bookies still have the horse as a strong favourite to win this race. Previously to this underwhelming performance, there were three straight victories including an April success at Aintree where the horse landed a five-length triumph.
However, that flat performance in the Long Walk Hurdle means that punters might be looking for alternatives, with Marie’s Rock potentially a viable bet at a bigger price. This mare runs for trainer Nicky Henderson and the nine-year-old was second to Bob Olinger on New Year’s Day when running a solid race.
Tweed Skirt could also go well for Henderson and the seven-year-old looks well-weighted despite an impressive performance at Kempton Park on 27 December. There was a five-length victory as a 4/1 shot when obliging over three miles on good to soft ground, with the horse capable of making further progress for connections.
Coquelicot was sixth out of ten runners at Cheltenham in a Mares’ Handicap Hurdle and that sort of form could stack up well here. Anthony Honeyball previously saw his eight-year-old land a win at Kempton Park at the end of November, with the horse having previously finished second in the Betfred Nifty 50 Handicap.
