Triumph Hurdle Betting Odds
The opening race on Day Four of the 2026 Cheltenham Festival begins with the Triumph Hurdle and there are a spate of four-year-olds who are in the running to land a victory. It's worth looking out for Willie Mullins-trained runners considering that the Irish handler has led four consecutive horses to victory. Vauban, Lossiemouth, Majborough and Poniros have all secured a win and the latter was a shock outsider.

More Horses
2026 JCB Triumph Hurdle Betting Tips This time around, Narciso Has could be the leading Mullins-trained chance, with the horse recording a Boxing Day success at Leopardstown. Sent off as the 11/10 favourite in a Grade 2 Juvenile Hurdle, the runner was able to secure an eleven-length success and that came after an encouraging November performance at Fairyhouse when landing second.
The winner on that occasion was Mange Tout who was able to secure a victory by nearly three lengths, with the 11/8 shot able to act well on good to soft ground. That came after a success at Down Royal a few weeks earlier, with the 8/15 favourite able to secure a winning distance by four lengths on that occasion.
Maestro Conti is trained by Dan Skelton and there's been lots to like about the horse's performance to date. The runner last turned out at Kempton Park over the festive period, landing a Juvenile Hurdle success over two miles on good ground. There was a winning margin of nearly ten lengths, with that coming after making his bow at Moulins in France and there could be more to come.
Manlaga is an interesting contender and we await to see what route the Nicky Henderson-trained charge takes. All we currently have from which to feed is a March 2025 outing at Auteuil although the horse could kick on to be something special. The same can be said of Leopard Du Berlais who has made three straight performances atht French track.
2025 Triumph Hurdle Tips Lulamba has notched a couple of wins already this season, with the Nicky Henderson-trained horse being installed as favourite to win the 2025 Triumph Hurdle. The previous outing saw the charge land a victory at Ascot when scoring in the BetMGM Juvenile Hurdle , with a three length triumph being achieved against the field on that occasion.
However, there isn’t a huge amount of form to go on when it comes to any horse, with East India Dock boasting solid credentials in a short career to date. James Owen has seen his four-year-old enjoy three successive victories and the latest was a ten-length triumph at Cheltenham towards the end of January.
Previously to this, there was an enormous eighteen-length win as the 4/5 favourite in a juvenile race and this came after a win at Wincanton at the end of October, with the horse being taken seriously by the Cheltenham Festival betting sites. It’s also easier to suggest he boasts stronger from than Lulamba right now.
Hello Neighbour is also worthy of consideration, with the horse having been in the winners enclosure in his two appearances to date. Gavin Cromwell saw his charge triumph a couple of months ago and he’s well ahead of the other horses in the betting market, with Willie Mullins’ best chance in the race being Lady Vega Allen.
2024 JCB Triumph Hurdle Tips The JCB Triumph Hurdle betting market has a lop-sided feel about it right now, with Sir Gino installed as the strong betting favourite to win this encounter. Nicky Henderson trains a horse who has passed all assignments with flying colours so far, claiming a convincing victory at Cheltenham towards the end of January which laid down a marker.
Sent off at odds of 5/4, Sir Gino was able to enjoy a ten-length victory over favourite Burdett Road on that occasion, with this Triumph Hurdle Trial offering plenty of insight. The horse had previously succeeded at odds-on at Kempton Park, although we regularly see big favourites beaten at the Cheltenham Festival and there are several other contenders.
Kargese could be the pick of the Willie Mullins-trained runners in the field, with the horse having landed a victory at the Dublin Racing Festival most recently. Sent off at racing odds of 7/2, the runner was able to claim a win against a number of stable mates including Majborough and Storm Heart, with the latter having been sent off as favourite.
The above three Mullins runners could once again be prominent when going up against the odds-on favourite and it will be interesting to see whether they can compete over two miles and one furlong. Kargese was previously second in a juvenile hurdle over December and there could be the option to place an each-way bet on this runner.
2023 JCB Triumph Hurdle Betting Tips Lossiemouth is one of several French-bred horses in the Willie Mullins stable and the price about this horse winning the Triumph Hurdle has been steadily shortening. However, some punters will be wary of backing the same runner after having their fingers burnt last time she ran, with the runner being sent off as the 1/3 favourite to win the Donohue Marquees Spring Juvenile Hurdle before getting beaten.
Previously to this, the same horse was able to claim a comprehensive victory in a Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown Racecourse , with this being a win over two miles although two hurdles were omitted in this race and perhaps Lossiemouth’s jumping might expose her in a tough Cheltenham battle.
That’s especially the case when you have Blood Destiny in the race and there have been consecutive wins at Fairyhouse and Cork this season. Sent off as the 8/13 favourite most recently, the margin of victory was eighteen lengths in a hurdle encounter, with the horse winning a three-year-old maiden hurdle by five lengths.
However, Gala Marceau was able to claim a win against Lossiemouth last time out and perhaps the Kenny Alexander-owned charge can be a better bet from an each-way point-of-view. St Donats comes next in the betting and it’s the first horse in the market that isn’t trained by Willie Mullins, with Comfort Zone also a potential contender.
The 2022 Triumph Hurdle betting odds are starting to take shape, with Pied Piper bidding to claim a third consecutive victory in this Grade 1 encounter. Trainer Gordon Elliott saw his charge win the Join Tote.ie 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown before pitching up in the JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle at Cheltenham Racecourse.
The horse was sent off as the 11/8 betting favourite to win and obliged with a nine-length victory which has seen his Triumph Hurdle odds shorten, with this potentially being the Cheltenham betting odds favourite for the race, with the money likely to come.
Vauban runs for Willie Mullins and won the Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown Racecourse at the beginning of February, with Paul Townend giving the horse a fantastic spin and he achieved a three-length victory. Previously to this, the runner finished half a length behind Pied Piper which explains why the Cheltenham betting sites make it an even tussle.
Fil Dor is an interesting contender and remains among the betting favourites to win the 2022 Triumph Hurdle, with the four-year-old having won three consecutive races before finishing second to Vauban. Previously to this, there was a comfortable victory in the Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle on Boxing Day when being sent off at 4/9.
Il Etait Temps is another Mullins runner who will come to the 2022 Cheltenham Festival having failed to win either of his prep races. However, the horse ran a blinder when running into third place at betting odds of 40/1 and this was clearly a surprise performance when running strongly at Leopardstown.
There are lots of lively each-way contenders who could run into a place and you should look out for the Cheltenham betting sites who are offering the biggest place terms. Porticello could go well for trainer Gary Moore and Doctor Parnassus is two from two for trainer Dan Skelton.
Zanahiyr Looks the One to Beat in Triumph Zanahiyr has not put a foot wrong in his career to date and has scored three consecutive victories, with Gordon Elliott only recently admitting the horse into his stable and he’s already looking like a leading contender, with triumphs at Ballinrobe, Fairyhouse and Leopardstown putting the runner on the map.
The majority of bookies have around 5/2 that the four-year-old continues his upward trajectory by scoring a victory on Day Four of the 2021 Cheltenham Festival and he certainly appears to be the standout name on the racecard, although other punters might consider that price a touch short based on his modest achievements to date.
Gordon Elliott Has Lots of Triumph Hurdle Contenders Elliott certainly has the JCB Triumph Hurdle as one of his best possible chances of securing a victory at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival, with Quilixios another unbeaten horse who has scored some very impressive victories, winning over thirteen lengths at Punchestown before going on to land a twenty-length success at Down Royal.
On both occasions the horse was sent off as the overwhelming favourite and perhaps a much sterner test awaits him for this encounter, while Duffle Coat is another Elliott horse that commands respect and could possibly represent the best value of all.
This horse arguably has the best form of all going into the race after winning the JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle at Cheltenham and that was against a tough field of horses, with Duffle Coat probably the betting value at the time of writing.
The Triumph Hurdle heralds the start of the fourth day of the Cheltenham Festival, with several talented horses competing over two miles and one furlong and this is always a competitive betting heat where it can be difficult to find the winning horse.
This is a race for four-year-olds who are relatively lightly raced although we have often seen winners of this race come through and win other races at the Festival, with Allmankind currently trading among the favourites and could have the potential to play a big role.
Dan Skelton is the trainer of a horse who has scored three successive victories in his short career, with Skelton getting this runner into his stable on 22 October, with a success at Cheltenham being sandwiched by victories at Chepstow and Warwick.
Brother Harry Skelton is likely to be on board but perhaps Aspire Tower is the horse that could give him some serious competition, with Henry De Bromhead having high hopes for a horse who hasn’t put a hoof wrong thus far.
The Irish horse has performed well this season and female jockey Rachael Blackmore could give the runner a good spin as she has done at Punchestown and Leopardstown in November and December.
Then we have Goshen who is trading at a bigger price although the Gary Moore-trained horse has not done anything wrong, with the four-year-old having accrued a great rating so far and perhaps could be the value.
The French-bred horse has scored five successive victories since landing the spoils at Brighton in June, with Goshen following this up with a quick win at Sandown before a further three wins.
Willie Mullins is virtually certain to have some runners in this race, with Micro Manage having yet to be seen at an English racecourse although that hasn’t stopped the bookies making the horse among the favourites for the Triumph.
There were promising signs for the Irish raider when winning at The Curragh in June, with Donnacha O’Brien steering the even money chance to a fantastic win and this horse could be among the favourites.
