Hurst Park Handicap Chase Betting Odds

Punters have a great each-way betting encounter in the form of the Hurst Park Handicap Chase. This race takes place over two miles and one furlong, with the going good to soft as the horses compete over thirteen fences at Ascot. Teddy Blue runs for Harry Derham and it’s possible that the seven-year-old can make a big impression.

Gidleigh Park carries multiple entries and might not find himself in this encounter, although Gabriel’s Getaway has achieved consecutive runner-up successes. Anthony Honeyball’s runner could be a great each-way candidate, with Martator and Rare Edition both eight-year-olds who also boast solid credentials.

2025 Hurst Park Handicap Chase Betting Tips

Teddy Blue is no stranger to success. Harry Derham trains a runner who was able to score at Ascot at the beginning of November. The 9/2 shot triumphed over two miles and one furlong in a handicap chase. Earlier in the year, there were consecutive successes at Huntingdon and Kempton Park before runs at Plumpton and Newbury.

Gabriel’s Getaway was second to Teddy Blue at Ascot, with that coming after a previous runner-up effort at Kempton Park. It should be noted that the Anthony Honeyball-trained charge was a 25/1 shot in the former encounter, with the horse potentially benefitting from wind surgery to run another big race on Saturday.

Martator runs for Venetia Williams and was fifth on a seasonal debut. The eight-year-old probably needed the outing at Exeter, with the horse having run solidly enough at the Cheltenham Festival back in March. On that occasion, the 50/1 chance was able score a tenth-placed finish in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup.

Rare Edition was second when making a seasonal outing recently, with Charlie Longsdon having saddled a runner who produced a strong performance at Kelso. Back in March, there was a fall at Doncaster and perhaps JPR One is a better each-way alternative. The Joe Tizzard-trained charge will need to improve on a previous showing at Exeter.

2024 Hurst Park Handicap Chase Tips

We’re excited for the 2024 Hurst Park Handicap Chase on Saturday, with Ascot Racecourse staging an encounter over two miles and one furlong. Martator looks to be a difficult one to beat, with Venetia Williams training a runner who was successful at Ascot at the beginning of November. That came in the Byrne Group Handicap Chase where a convincing win was had.

That came after victories at Newbury, Sandown and Ascot, although this is a different kettle of fish and Sans Bruit could be able to land a blow based on previous performances. The six-year-old is trained by Paul Nicholls, with a third-placed finish coming out of five runners but the real stunning performance came when winning at Aintree back in April.

That was in the Red Rum Handicap Chase over two miles, with favourite Saint Roi beaten by four lengths. Marvel De Cerisy is a runner that catches the eye and the Noel George-trained runner was able to score back to back victories. This is a French-trained runner and it will be interesting to see how the horse shapes up in the UK.

There was a success at Auteil where there was a success at October against twelve other runners, with that coming after a previous victory against fifteen other horses. Be sure to compare the latest Ascot horse racing odds and have an account with several bookmakers in order to land price boosts and extra value.

2023 Hurst Park Handicap Chase Tips

Boothill has been a star performer for Harry Fry and the eight-year-old was successful at Ascot last time out. Having been sent off as the 7/2 favourite in the Byrne Group Handicap Chase, the horse was was able to enjoy a four-length victory when seeing off First Flow, Saint Segal and Cap Du Mathan. Perhaps we’ll see another win here.

Saint Segal will hope to frank the form this time around and Jane Williams saw her runner finish third in a previous outing, with six lengths needed to find on Boothill, with the charge having achieved wins at Hereford and Chepstow last season. Corrigeen Rock is another interesting contender who has enjoyed successive wins.

The six-year-old last obliged when winning at Kempton Park in late October, marking a successful return to the track after beating four rivals at Perth Racecourse. The Lucinda Russell-trained runner looks like an each-way bet to nothing based on previous achievements, while Frere D’Armes could go well at a similar price.

The six-year-old finished fifth last time out, with Aucunrisque one of several runners who are available at double figure betting odds. Chris Gordon saddles a seven-year-old who was third out of six runners at Fontwell back at the beginning of October. Triple Trade also has solid form and could go well for handler Joe Tizzard.
