Warwick Mares Hurdle Betting Odds

Gala Marceau was second last time out and the six-year-old finds herself at the top of the market for this Mares’ Hurdle at Warwick. There could be more to come from a horse who has the highest official rating in the field, with two other runners likely to be competing at the end when it comes to this two mile five furlong encounter.

West Balboa has run four times this season without registering a success, with Dan Skelton saddling a nine-year-old who has run in some esteemed company this term. You Wear It Well has also gone without a victory this term although there have been some solid performances from the eight-year-old.

2025 Warwick Mares' Hurdle Tips

Gala Marceau was second in her last outing, finishing seven lengths behind Lossiemouth at Punchestown in early May, with this being a strong performance over two miles, four and a half furlongs. There was previously a decent outing at the Cheltenham Festival last year where the horse achieved a midfield finish in the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle.

West Balboa is a more experienced campaigner and could come through with the spoils at the age of nine. Last time out at Kempton, there was a fourth-placed finish in a Mares’ Handicap Hurdle over the festive period, with a decent showing taking place at Aintree when the horse claimed third spot in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle.

You Wear It Well struggled in her most previous outing, with the horse finishing last out of four horses when trailing by twenty-six lengths at Windsor in January. However, there was a decent effort when running at Warwick in December, with the horse being sent off as odds-on favourite before falling short.

The same horse previously ran in the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival although there was a seventh-placed finish out of eleven horses, with plenty of other big-priced runner set to line up. The pick of these could be Dameofthecotswolds and the five-year-old has bagged a number of wins this season.

2024 Warwick Mares' Hurdle Tips

You Wear It Well heads up the racing betting market and the seven-year-old looks like the one to beat based on the evidence of this season. The horse was last seen finishing second out of five runners in a mares’ hurdle at Doncaster Racecourse, with the runner only narrowly beaten by favourite Marie’s Rock.

The most notable recent victory came at Wetherby at the beginning of November, with the horse able to land the spoils against five other rivals which included Luccia. However, some punters might be warned off backing this horse considering the horse finished a long way behind Not So Sleepy in the Betfair Fighting Fifth Hurdle.

Theatre Glory can’t be easily ignored, with the horse trading as second favourite to land a victory in this contest. Nicky Henderson will have the runner primed to run a big race, with the runner having registered a third place on a seasonal reappearance although subsequent outings have been far from convincing.

Dan Skelton has Get A Tonic operating and the eight-year-old did land an impressive win at the beginning of December, with this coming as a 28/1 shot at Newbury, although the horse then returned to the track trading at odds of 100/30 and didn’t manage to make the required impression, with the runner finishing fourth out of six runners.

2023 Warwick Mares Hurdle Tips

Can anyone beat Love Envoi in the 2023 Warwick Mares Hurdle? The seven-year-old has secured back to back victories at Sandown Park, with the horse landing a victory in a handicap hurdle on 3 December. This was followed up by a comprehensive thirteen-length win in a mares’ hurdle at the same track, although this race is due to be a stiffer test against more quality opposition.

Love Envoi is a high grade animal and she proved this at the Cheltenham Festival last March when the horse was able to win the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle. However, the horse was beaten into second by Brandy Love and that eight-length defeat at Fairyhouse means that we could consider other runners in the race, with customers considering each-way alternatives.

One of those horses is West Balboa, with Dan Skelton having three horses in the race although this one seems like the main contender. The runner produced the goods in the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton Park when Bridget Andrews gave her a tremendous ride, with that coming over two miles and five furlongs. You would have to argue that she looks better value than the favourite.

Theatre Glory could yet come to the fore, with the six-year-old running a fair race last time out when securing third place in a handicap hurdle at Kempton Park. We didn’t learn a huge amount from her previous run when unseating a rider earlier in the race at Newbury Racecourse at the end of November.
