Ascot Handicap Hurdle Betting Odds

The going at Ascot Racecourse is set to be good to soft this weekend, with a maximum of eighteen runners lining up for an encounter which takes place over two miles, three and a half furlongs. At the time of writing, all the runners are trading at odds of 8/1 or bigger, with Guard Your Dreams, Rare Edition and Monviel among the main protagonists.

Bad, Rambo T and Cuthbert Dibble are also entered for a race where you can expect the horse racing betting sites to offer extra places. This Class 2 encounter will be a strong test of stamina, with this proving to be one of the more competitive handicaps this weekend. Compare the latest racing odds and find out how to secure the value.

2024 Ascot Handicap Hurdle Tips

It will be interesting to see which horse goes off as favourite when it comes to the Ascot Handicap Hurdle, with Guard Your Dreams currently heading the betting market. The eight-year-old was last seen finishing dead last in the Unibet Hurdle where he found the competition a little too stiff, although this could be a horse where he can make a better impression.

After all, the horse missed the whole of last season with an injury, with Rare Edition trained by Charlie Longsdon and the runner has to be one for the shortlist. A victory came against five other runners at Kempton Park in January, with this coming after finishing third out of eleven horses at Doncaster in December.

Monviel runs for Harry Derham and the seven-year-old could be favourably weighted as the horse bids to improve on his last showing which saw the horse finish dead last out of four horses at Ascot in November. Ben Pauling has a horse called Bad who is capable of a good performance and the five-year-old looks a spot of each-way value.

The horse knows his way around the Ascot course after previously finishing third out of fourteen runners over one mile, seven and a half furlongs in December. This came after a second-placed finish out of eight horses when lining up a few weeks previously, with the horse having hit the frame on three consecutive occasions.

2023 Betfair Exchange Trophy Tips

We’ve got a huge field of horses set to line up for the Betfair Exchange Trophy and that includes Iberico Lord who looks to be favourably weighted considering he is carrying 10-10 for the encounter. Last time out, there was a victory at Cheltenham against fourteen other runners where the horse got the better of Lookaway by two and a half lengths.

Stablemate Impose Toi is not without his chances and there have been successive wins for the Nicky Henderson-trained runner who scored a success at Ludlow back in May before seeing off sixteen adversaries at Cheltenham last month. The 2/1 favourite obliged by a winning distance of over two lengths and staying the trip shouldn’t be a problem.

Hansard could run well for Gary Moore and has to cope with carrying more weight than the McManus-trained runners, with the five-year-old recently winning a competitive tussle at Newbury. It was a solid performance over two miles, half a furlong, with the horse having one of the highest overall rating out of any contender in the field.

Altobelli is another five-year-old with solid claims and the runner was able to finish second at Ascot in a previous encounter. Over nearly two miles, the horse ran well when finishing runner-up to Knickerbockerglory, with Willie Mullins also having an interesting contender in the form of Onlyamatteroftime which could be one to watch.

2022 Betfair Exchange Trophy Tips

Pikar has been installed as the bookmaker favourite to win the 2022 Betfair Exchange Trophy, with the horse likely to put on an impressive showing if he can repeat the performance which saw him claim a victory in a Novices’ Hurdle at Chepstow Racecourse recently. There was plenty to like about a five-length win and there could be more to come from this runner.

Hacker Des Places returns to Ascot after a fairly impressive showing at the same track on his previous outing. Finishing second meant that each-way backers were rewarded and Paul Nicholls is a trainer who could be worth following for this meeting, with his five-year-old having also won a handicap hurdle at Aintree.

Nicky Henderson is no stranger to success at Ascot and he has an interesting runner in the form of First Street lining up. Sent off as the 3/1 joint-favourite for the Coral Bet Bundles Intermediate Handicap Hurdle, there was a solid two-and-a-half length win for the runner who was second in last season’s County Handicap Hurdle.

Maybe Highway One O Two is a value selection when you consider that the runner actually beat Hacker Des Places by over seven lengths when the horses clash. It’s the sort of race which will benefit each-way backers and trainer Harry Fry has a couple of interesting runners in the form of Metier and Lightly Squeeze.

2021 Betfair Exchange Trophy Betting Tips

Nicky Henderson will hope that the market leader can go close in the race, with the five-year-old opening the season with a couple of victories and the first of these was at Southwell before another facile win at Worcester. The horse wasn’t far away when running in the more competitive Greatwood Handicap Hurdle.

However, there are two other horses trading at similar racing betting odds. Paul Nicholls could have more than one winner on Long Walk Hurdle day, with this trainer having a talented four-year-old in the form of Samarrive. Harry Cobden was on board when steering the runner to victory in the Betfair Daily Rewards December Handicap Hurdle.

West Cork probably has the best claims to being favourite for this race, with Harry Skelton’s horse winning the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle and the runner has a habit of running into the places which is encouraging from an each-way point-of-view. The seven-year-old hadn’t raced for eighteen months and could be open to further improvement.

Boothill, Goshen and Soaring Glory Also Among Favourites

Boothill runs for trainer Harry Fry and the horse wound up third in the Bateaux London Handicap Hurdle when being sent off as the 5/2 favourite, while there was another below-par outing when being sent off at odds-on but fourth place suggests that the horse isn’t at all a good thing.

Goshen is a very bizarre horse who is currently entered in this race, with the Gary Moore-trained runner having stormed clear in the JCB Triumph Hurdle in 2020 only to unseat his rider and the runner has been hit and miss since then. There was an impressive win in the Kingwell Hurdle earlier in the year, although it was a below-par outing in the Champion Hurdle when finishing eighth.

Soaring Glory claimed the spoils in the Bateaux London Handicap Hurdle and the six-year-old is capable of running a big race here, with the horse then finishing last out of four horses in a hurdle race over two miles.
