There are eleven runners set to go to post in the William Hill 1461 Chase, with Fingle Bridge the one to beat according to the latest horse racing odds. Olly Murphy saddles an eight-year-old who has had that winning feeling plenty of times already. However, there are plenty of lively threats and Javert Allen also has strong claims.

The seven-year-old has been fourth and second in his races thus far, with Cerendipity having fallen in a previous encounter after being runner-up and fourth in two consecutive heats. Richmond Lake could be angling for a victory after third and second this season, with Heltenham bidding to secure a win after being denied on the past few occasions.

There was a January 2025 success at Market Rasen, with that coming before a triumph at Exeter a month later. More recently, the horse scored a November runner-up spot at the Devon racecourse when following home Lulamba.

Javert Allen runs for Jane Williams and began the campaign with a fourth-placed finish at Aintree in November. It was a solid handicap chase performance, with the horse then finishing a close second at Newbury a few weeks later. The runner could be an each-way bet to nothing and certainly boasts a decent pedigree.

Prairie Wolf recorded successive third-placed finishes this season before landing a victory in the previous outing. Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith saddle a runner who raced well at Wetherby and Newbury before securing a win on Boxing Day. That success came at Aintree in a handicap chase over two miles and four furlongs.

Cerendipity runs for the same trainers and there was a fall in the most recent showing. The nine-year-old was travelling well at Wetherby on Boxing Day, with that coming after disappointing at the same track in the previous month. The biggest concern is that there hasn't been a victory for the horse in the past few outings.
