Faugheen Novice Chase Betting Odds
There's a healthy purse of money on the table in the Faugheen Novice Chase, with Final Demand looking every inch the winner. Willie Mullins trains a horse that has already landed some notable victories, with the bookies taking cover to ensure that they don't trade the runner at too big odds. The six-year-old certainly boasts some solid credentials.
However, there are some other quality runners also in the field. Oscars Brother has been victorious in his previous two occasions, with The Big Westerner also a potentially strong each-way candidate. Jimmy Du Seuil was also a winner in a previous outing although these horses could all be batting it out for second place.

The brilliant festive racing in Ireland continues with the Faugheen Novice Chase, with the encounter named after the legendary horse and perhaps there'll be another one after this season. Final Demand is a quality operator who looks set to make a huge impact this season, with the six-year-old a very heavy favourite to oblige with a victory.
The horse was sent off as the 6/4 favourite in the Turners' Novices Chase at the Cheltenham Festival before finishing third, although he appears to have taken well to bigger fences in his chasing career. In a Beginners Chase at Navan, the runner stretched thirteen lengths clear and that came after a sixteen-length success in the Champion Novice Hurdle back in May.
Oscars Brother landed back to back successes this season and could be the biggest threat to the favourite. Connor King's seven-year-old was able to score at Galway at the end of October over two miles, six and a half furlongs. There was then plenty to like about a three mile victory at Punchestown in the Grade Two Florida Pearl Novice Chase.
The Big Westerner runs for Henry De Bromhead and there was a solid effort at Fairyhouse last time out. It was a second-placed effort behind Jimmy De Seuil and the latter will line up here with a lively each-way chance. This is another Willie Mullins-trained charge and perhaps we might see the trainer land a 1-2 finish.

We’re excited for this Grade One encounter on 27 December when the Faugheen Novice Chase is run at Limerick Racecourse, with the race taking place over two miles, three and a half furlongs. Ballyburn hasn’t stopped winning recently and the six-year-old is bidding for a sixth successive victory which means he could be the horse to beat.
The latest success was a monster win at Punchestown after previously winning at the same track in May, although the more notable success came at Cheltenham in the middle of March where a thirteen-length success was achieved in the Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle. The last time that defeat was tasted was at Fairyhouse over a year ago.
Impaire Et Passe was a facile winner of an encounter at Fairyhouse last time out, with this coming after a success at April when the horse was able to oblige at Sandown Park. There was also a smart win in the William Hill Aintree Hurdle and success was achieved in this Grade One encounter over two miles and four furlongs.
Sa Majeste could be a decent each-way contender and the horse has been steadily improving since the Cheltenham Festival where a low-ranked finish was attained. There was a second-placed finish at Galway towards the end of October before a success at Tipperary in November and he’s a backable each-way price.

Gaelic Warrior has demonstrated on a frequent basis that he’s a highly capable performer, with Willie Mullins saddling a horse who is the highest-rated in the field. The five-year-old was recently seen landing a victory at Punchestown Racecourse, fending off ten other rivals and the bookies are taking no chances with their quotes when it comes to this horse.
The runner was previously successful in the Irish Mirror Novice Hurdle over three miles on yielding ground, with this win occurring over ten lengths. However, the horse did have his colours lowered in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle over two miles and five furlongs, with Impaire et Passe successful on that occasion.
Found A Fifty has to be respected in the market and could represent each-way value, with the horse finishing second in the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase, with the horse previously winning a Beginners’ Chase at Down Royal in November. However, there were underwhelming performances previously to this.
Corbetts Cross was able to score at Fairyhouse at the beginning of December, with the runner securing a victory in a Beginners’ Chase when beating favourite Three Card Brag and that was on soft ground. American Mike runs for Gordon Elliott and claimed the spoils at Navan last time out in November.

Gerri Colombe heads to Limerick with an unbeaten record and that explains why the horse is trading at odds-on to win the Faugheen Novice Chase. The horse showed plenty of ability when winning the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee Beginners Chase on 15 November over two miles and five furlongs, taking to the big obstacles in a fairly seamless fashion.
However, some might argue that the six-year-old hasn’t been severely tested and Kilcruit has more experience who has gone chasing this season after hurdling last time around. A third-placed finish in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham illustrated his quality and it could be that Willie Mullins gets a tune out of the horse over fences.
Mighty Potter was actually pulled up in that Cheltenham Festival opener, with the horse having won the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase when obliging at betting odds of 3/1. The fact that the horse beat Gaillard Du Mesnil and Banbridge means that we have to respect the sort of form that could mean this is a good each-way selection.
Classic Getaway is another decent each-way shout and we might see an improvement from the performance that saw the horse land the spoils in the Noreside Catering Irish EBF Beginners Chase. Three Stripe Life was pulled up last time out although the bookies still think the runner could be involved in the shake-up here.
