Kaid d’Authie is a viable contender for the Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle, with Willie Mullins training a horse who was an impressive winner last time out. There’s little to separate this five-year-old from stablemate Kopek Des Bordes who has an unblemished record and should go well over a distance of two miles.

There are other horses which might be considered from an each-way point-of-view. Romeo Coolio has claimed two wins from his three appearances to date, with Salvator Mundi having notched successive victories and Mullins also has dangerous contenders in the form of You Oughta Know and Redemption Day.

Salvator Mundi is bidding for a consecutive hat-trick of wins and could rate as a solid each-way prospect, with Mullins recently seeing his charge oblige as the odds-on favourite at Punchestown in January. This came after a success at Tipperary, with stablemates You Oughta Know and Redemption Day also in contention.

Ballyburn has been a class act during his career to date and that explains why the six-year-old has been installed as the short-priced favourite to win the Leopardstown Novice Hurdle. The horse returns to the same track which previously saw him oblige with a twenty five-length victory although the horse could only finish second to Firefox at Punchestown last month.

Caldwell Potter has earned back to back victories and the Gordon Elliott-trained charge finished second at Punchestown back in November before beating twenty-four other runners at Navan in December. The most impressive showing came last time out when the horse was able to score at Leopardstown over two miles on heavy ground.

Farren Glory was a faller last time out after previously landing back to back successes, with Gordon Elliott expecting good things from a seven-year-old who landed a seasonal debut victory by triumphing against sixteen other runners at Clonmel, with the horse then claiming the spoils at Fairyhouse in early December before falling at Aintree Racecourse.

No Flies On Him is a five-year-old who was able to win a Boxing Day encounter at Leopardstown, with that Maiden Hurdle triumph coming by a distance of nearly two lengths, with Mystical Power having racked up three consecutive wins for Willie Mullins and the five-year-old has been an impressive performer this season.

2023 Ireland Novice Hurdle Betting Tips

Facile Vega has enjoyed six consecutive victories and it’s hard to see any other horse tarnishing this 100% record when it comes to this Novice Hurdle. The six-year-old has been bolting up since trainer Willie Mullins let him loose at a racecourse, with the runner really kicking on after claiming the spoils in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper by nearly four lengths.

The horse then won the Race & Stay At Punchestown Champion I.N.H. Flat Race before starting to go over hurdles this season. There was a facile fourteen-length win over his rivals at Fairyhouse, while another smart performance was produced to win the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle by four lengths.

The runner that finished second on that occasion was Il Etait Temps, with the horse actually running fairly well to get within four lengths of his stablemate. With a smarter round of jumping, perhaps this horse is capable of pulling off some kind of shock and we like the charge from an each-way perspective. Look out for extra places on this front.

High Definition runs for trainer Joseph O’Brien and the five-year-old is something of an unknown quantity, with the horse having previously been run on the flat before a smart Maiden Hurdle win at Leopardstown. A victory by over four lengths was pretty solid, with Impaire Et Passe another runner who has to be respected.
