Josh The Boss also has solid credentials and runs for the Twiston-Davies', with Barlovento aiming to cast off the bridesmaid tag considering that the Olly Murphy-trained charge has had a succession of runner-up spots. 2025 Kempton Novices' Limited Handicap Chase Betting Tips

Noble Park has been in the winners' enclosure twice this season and it started at Hereford in November. The six-year-old obliged over two miles and five furlongs, with the horse getting up by over two lengths. This was followed by an emphatic victory at Lingfield Park. Sent off as the 5/6 favourite, a twenty-four length success was achieved over two miles and four furlongs.

U Can't Be Serious also has bold claims to run well in this opening Boxing Day race on the Kempton Park card. Joe Tizzard trains a horse who was able to win at Exeter in mid-November, with the charge then returning to the Devon track in December. The 11/10 favourite was able to oblige in the JCB Handicap Chase by half a length.

Josh The Boss can also boast a couple of recent wins and the latest of these came at Doncaster at the end of November. An eleven-length success was achieved against three other contenders, with this following a routine run-out at Newbury. However, the horse was well down the order at Chepstow in October when sent off as favourite.

Barlovento has been hitting the frame on a regular basis recently, with the horse only just behind U Can't Be Serious at Exeter in his last race. Back in January, the horse was second out of six runners at Leicester. Arguably the best performance of his career was at Carlisle back in October 2024 but more might be needed to win this one.

Can Jerrysback Oblige as Handicap Chase Favourite?

Jerrysback has only run once this season and finished third in the bet365 Handicap Chase towards the end of January, although that performance was eye-catching enough to make the horse the 6/1 betting favourite to win this race at Kempton, with a solid performance being displayed over two miles and five furlongs.

That performance came after a long rest from the track although there have been some notable displays during his career and that includes a third-placed finish in the National Hunt Challenge Cup at the 2019 Cheltenham Festival, with the horse potentially about to come on from his recent run.

Paul Nicholls Could Score With Black Corton or Clan Des Obeaux

Paul Nicholls is no stranger to training winners in races such as this and Black Corton will be looking to get things right after a few bumps in the road this season, with the ten-year-old finishing fourth in the Sodexo Gold Cup Handicap Chase before flopping in the Chanelle Pharma 1965 Chase and the horse was then pulled up in the Unibet Handicap Chase.

Indeed, Nicholls has several of the top-weighted entries in the race and that includes the well-known Clan Des Obeaux who is trading at a double figure price but regarded as the classiest horse in this encounter, being recently sent off for the King George VI Chase before finishing third behind Frodon and Waiting Patiently.

Who Are the Other Close Brothers Handicap Chase Favourites?

Cap Du Nord has run four times this season and they have all been creditable performances, with the horse finishing third in the Sky Bet Handicap Chase when being sent off as the 4/1 favourite, while that followed a second-placed finish in a handicap race at Kempton Park so there should be no issues with this horse over the same course and distance.

Double Shuffle is something of an old-stager at the age of 11, although he also won a handicap chase race at Kempton at the beginning of 2021, with the horse also in the frame when finishing third at the same course towards the back end of 2020.
