Sapphire Stakes Betting Odds

There are several horses in with a lively chance of landing the spoils in the Sapphire Stakes. Out of all the contenders, Mgheera could be the one which has the strongest credentials. Ed Walker trains a five-year-old who has been impressive this term, although there are several other runners who are operating at single figure odds.

Bucanero Fuerte is a four-year-old who began the season with a victory, with Rumstar having won twice for Jonathan Portman this term. Arizona Blaze has run five times and the three-year-old and trainer Adrian Murray saw his horse finish second last time out. She’s Quality will aim to build on three successive runner-up appearances.

2025 Sapphire Stakes Betting Tips

Mgheera has a great opportunity to follow up two successive wins this season when lining up in the Sapphire Stakes. The last triumph came at Haydock Park when the horse obliged at odds of 10/1 in the Temple Stakes. That came after a success at Longchamp in May, with the effort being in the Prix de Saint-Georges at Longchamp and there could be more to come.

There are other viable contenders in the field. Bucanero Fuerte is a four-year-old who was successful in a previous encounter. The Adrian Murray-trained runner obliged in the Sole Power Sprint Stakes over five furlongs at Naas. That was a fine effort following a disappointing effort at Ascot when finishing low down the order in the British Champions Sprint Stakes.

Rumstar runs for Jonathan Portman and there was an early July success at Sandown Park. That came in the Coral Charge which was a Group 3 encounter, with that coming after finishing fourteenth in the King Charles III Stakes where the horse failed to make an impression. There was also a sixth-placed finish in the Betfred Temple Stakes.

Arizona Blaze is another Murray-trained runner who was highly impressive at Royal Ascot when finishing second out of twenty-one horses. This was a brilliant effort in the Commonwealth Cup, with the 25/1 shot narrowly missing out on a victory. That came after finishing sixth out of nine runners in the Betfred Sandy Lane Stakes.

2023 Sapphire Stakes Tips

Go Athletico has enjoyed back-to-back victories ahead of the Barberstown Castle Sapphire Stakes, with Adrian McGuinness now hoping to see another win for this five-year-old. In the middle of June, the horse was able to oblige at Cork Racecourse when sent off as the 2/1 joint-favourite in a Sprint Stakes and we could get another big performance here.

Previously to this, there had been a victory in the Prix Cor de Chasse, with Ladies Church having run strongly in the Sole Power Sprint Stakes at Naas at the end of May, with the runner now set to line up as one of the favourites at the Curragh. It was a convincing three length victory and there could be more to come from the Jonny Murtagh-trained charge.

Art Power was recently fourth in the July Cup Stakes at Newmarket and ran well at betting odds of 14/1, with Tim Easterby encouraged by a performance which saw the horse finish less than three lengths behind eventual winner Shaquille. The horse previously ran in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes and finished twelfth.

Mitbaahy was last seen running at Royal Ascot when finishing a credible eighth in the King’s Stand Stakes when being sent off at odds of 22/1. Roger Varian will hope that the horse can build on that performance in a less competitive outing in Ireland, with the horse previously outpaced two furlongs out although we might get a bright showing here.
