Steel Ally produced a solid performance on his seasonal debut and the same horse heads the betting market for the Lavazza Handicap Hurdle on Saturday. The Sam Thomas-trained runner was able to win last season along with registering a runner-up and a third-placed spot. He looks like the most solid each-way proposition out of the entire field.

Fiercely Proud was also twice a winner last season and the five-year-old is trained by Ben Pauling. Fire Flyer was unconvincing in his previous two encounters, although Paul Nicholls trains a six-year-old who is also carrying 11-3 and could be a backable each-way price. That’s particularly if you are able to get extra places, with the best horse racing betting sites likely to stretch down to five or even six places for this race.
