Midlands Grand National Betting Odds

The Midlands Grand National is traditionally a fantastic each-way betting race and the 2025 renewal is no exception. Every horse is available at an attractive price for this sort of wager, with Aworkinprogress catching the eye after notching a number of victories this term. However, Knockanore also has solid credentials and the eight-year-old can also be considered.

Apple Away has racked up three consecutive runner-up performances and the Lucinda Russell-trained charge has the ability to go well at the Midlands track on Saturday, with Mr Vango having landed back to back successes and he’s also not without a chance. There might also be more to come from Tanganyika who runs for Venetia Williams.

2025 Midlands Grand National Tips

Long-distance National Hunt encounters don’t come much further than the Midlands Grand National, with the runners and riders battling it out over four miles and two furlongs. Aworkinprogress has been claiming plenty of wins this term, with the last three all coming at Lingfield Park. The last effort was over nearly three miles on heavy ground, so stamina might not be an issue.

Knockanore could go well for Ryan Potter and has two successes to his name this term, with the eight-year-old achieving an impressive success at Newcastle last month. Sent off at odds of 16/1 in the Eider Handicap Chase, the horse was able to oblige over four miles, one and a half furlongs, with the runner having also performed well at Uttoxeter this season.

Apple Away is another eight-year-old with solid credentials. Lucinda Russell trains a runner who was last seen finishing second at Haydock Park in a Grand National Trial handicap chase, with this coming after the mare performed well in a mares’ chase at Newbury. However, there was a failure to win at Market Rasen in November despite being the favourite.

Mr Vango has achieved back to back successes and the nine-year-old was last seen winning at Haydock Park when obliging in the Peter Marsh Handicap Chase. That was over three miles, one furlong, with Sara Bradstock training a runner who previously won the London National Handicap Chase at Sandown Park.

2024 Midlands Grand National Tips

There are a spate of seven-year-olds and eight-year-olds who dominate the betting market for the Midlands Grand National. Inis Oirr is among the favourites and the seven-year-old looks favourably weighted off 10-11, with the horse having won last time out. It was an impressive showing at Musselburgh when beating eleven rivals.

Iron Bridge was third out of ten runners in his last race, producing a solid performance after previously finishing second in the Welsh Grand National. Although the horse was a long way behind winner Nassalam, the charge was just one out of five that actually managed to finish the course and so we can rely on this entry from a stamina perspective.

Mr Incredible is next in the betting and we haven’t seen this horse in action since unseating his rider in last year’s Aintree Grand National. That came after a credible third in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup at Cheltenham although there’s a question mark considering that the horse hasn’t been seen in action for a while.

My Silver Lining catches the eye based on achievements to date, with the Emma Lavelle-trained runner having finished either first or second in his past five outings. A second placed finish out of ten horses at Haydock in February was credible and that came after winning at Warwick back in January, with smart performances previously taking place at Sandown and Exeter.

2023 Midlands Grand National Betting Tips

Guetapan Collonges should go well off a mark of 10-3 and there was plenty to like about the horse’s previous victory which actually came at Uttoxeter Racecourse. Brian Hughes gave the horse a tremendous spin and he was able to land the spoils by a length ahead of race favourite Mister Coffey, with the horse having previously finished fourth in a handicap at Warwick.

Iwilldoit was the winner on that occasion and you can certainly get a backable price about the Sam Thomas-trained runner when it comes to the Midlands Grand National. Part of the reason why the horse is trading at big odds comes down to the fact that the horse is now carrying 11-12 and that is quite a big penalty.

Kitty’s Light goes off a mark of 10-11 and the seven-year-old won a handicap chase on the all-weather at Newcastle Racecourse when obliging as the 7/4 favourite. This was a two and a half length win and this was despite the fact that the horse didn’t jump fluently but still managed to record a nice win which suggests that she’s one for the shortlist.

Revels Hill will go for Harry Fry and could be well-handicapped and he was able to finish third at Ascot in the Swinley Handicap Chase, with the horse also performing well in the Royal Ascot Racing Club Handicap Chase when finishing second behind Your Darling. There could be some merit in an each-way bet if the horse is able to get into his jumping.
