Gaelic Warrior has been successful this season and Willie Mullins trains a seven-year-old who can certainly set the benchmark at Sandown Park on Saturday. There is a maximum of fourteen runners lining up for an encounter where Pic D’orhy is also entered. The ten-year-old is hugely experience and might be able to make this count.

El Fabiolo has previously been a star performer although there have been some notable falls this term. Perhaps Willie Mullins stands a better chance of landing the spoils with Gentleman De Mee having produced a star performance to win last time out. Il Etait Temps is the other runner who has solid credentials.

2025 bet365 Oaksey Chase

Gaelic Warrior heads the betting for the bet365 Oaksey Chase and it’s easy to see why the horse is regarded as the one to beat. Willie Mullins saw his charge land a victory at Aintree where the horse was able to land a three-length success over Grey Dawning. This came after a third-placed finish at Leopardstown despite being sent off as favourite in the Dublin Chase.

The seven-year-old was also beaten by Solness in the Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase when sent off as favourite for that Grade One encounter. However, the seven-year-old does have a strong track record and could take some beating. Perhaps the one to claim the spoils could be Pic D’orhy who is a ten-year-old with bags of experience.

Paul Nicholls saddles a runner who has recorded successive wins this term. There was a recent success at Ascot in the Betfair Ascot Chase, with the Grade One success coming by ten lengths when defeating Corbetts Cross. There was previously a facile triumph in the 1965 Chase when achieving a three and a half length success.

El Fabiolo might have been favourite for this race two years ago although there are clearly jumping issues with the Mullins-trained runner. The eight-year-old has fallen twice in the space of three races, with the last outing coming in the Melling Chase where the horse came down at Aintree. We also saw the charge beaten at Navan despite being huge favourite.

2023 Oaksey Chase Tips

Hewick has landed a couple of wins this season but the horse has also taken a couple of tumbles, meaning that punters might tread warily when it comes to backing a short-priced favourite for the Oaksey Chase. The eight-year-old was a 40/1 outsider for the Boodles Gold Cup at Cheltenham and perhaps it should come as no surprise that the runner found the pace too tough.

However, that was an impressive run at Prestbury Park where the eight-year-old was one of the front runners and that came after winning at Far Hills back in October. Over two miles and five furlongs, the horse was able to oblige in the Grand National Hurdle Stakes, with this race won in America by over ten lengths and that is why the runner is trading so short.

Solo hasn’t been out of the top two this season and the horse was able to win the Coral Pendil Novices’ Chase on 25 February at Kempton Park, with the Paul Nicholls-trained charge winning over two miles, four-and-a-half furlongs. There was also a second-placed finish behind Balco Coastal in a handicap race at the same course over the festive season.

Eldorado Allen has been winless in all six outings this term although some punters might keep faith with Joe Tizzard’s charge, with the horse finishing fifth in the William Hill Handicap Chase at Aintree, with this taking place over three miles and one furlong. A repeat performance might be enough to beat his rivals on this occasion.
