The Too Darn Hot Darley Stakes is a Group 3 encounter and there are lots of viable winners over one mile and one furlong. Aside from a couple of outsiders, many of the runners are in with a solid chance of victory. Damysus looks the one to beat although that recent win was the first in four attempts this season.

Therefore, it might be worth looking outside the market leader and perhaps Gladius ticks all the boxes. 2025 Darley Stakes Betting Tips

Damysus is the first horse to consider when it comes to the Too Darn Hot Darley Stakes. The Gosden-trained runner scored at Deauville last August, with that success coming in the Aga Khan Studs Prix Nureyev. That came after a disappointing effort in the Epsom Derby, although there were previously good runs at York and Sandown.

The run in the Dubai Dante Stakes at the Knavesmire was particularly eye-catching, with the horse landing second spot at odds of 16/1. However, there are other strong contenders and we like the look of Gladius. Andrew Balding’s horse has three victories on the board this term and that includes successes at Sandown and Goodwood.

The former of these victories was in a handicap race over one mile and one furlong. The same thing happened in early August and there was a fourth-placed finish in the Group 3 Strensall Stakes. However, First Conquest also looks to be a backable each-way price, having secured consecutive wins at Meydan last time out.

Last time out, the horse performed well when finishing fourth out of seven places in the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes, with the horse only two lengths off the pace. Liberty Lane is an older adversary who can go well and there’s Royal Playwright who also catches the eye. Andrew Balding’s three-year-old was a winner last time out.

2024 Darley Stakes Tips

There are a number of different horses who can land a victory in the Darley Stakes on Saturday, with little to separate the front two in the betting market. Lead Artist has been an impressive performer this season, having won at Goodwood in the beginning of August before finishing second at Doncaster when finishing behind Kinross over seven furlongs.

However, Maljoom is a five-year-old with solid credentials, despite failing to strike this season. The last outing was at Leopardstown where the William Haggas-trained runner finished sixth in the Solonaway Stakes. Previously to this, the horse performed well at big odds when finishing eighth in the Juddmonte International Stakes.

Highland Avenue was last seen running in the Betfred Diomed Stakes at Epsom, with the Charlie Appleby-trained runner sent off as the 7/2 joint-favourite before hitting the frame. It’s been a long time since the Godolphin charge recorded a victory, with the previous three outings coming at Meydan.

Liberty Lane has been in the winners enclosure on two occasions this season, with Karl Burke training a horse who was recently successful in the Cambridgeshire. It was an excellent win by two and a half lengths, with this coming after a second-placed finish at Doncaster over one mile and two furlongs.

2023 Darley Stakes Tips

There are several lively contenders when it comes to the 2023 Darley Stakes, with Highland Avenue among them. The five-year-old can’t be easily discounted despite falling relatively short in the bet365 Stakes at Newbury on 22 July, with the Charlie Appleby-trained charge having been sent off as 7/4 favourite before finishing fourth.

Previously to this, there was a fourth-placed finish at the Royal Ascot meeting when placing in the Wolferton Stakes, although perhaps at least one horse will prove too strong this time around. Knight could be the horse in shining armour for punters and the three-year-old is saddled by Simon & Ed Crisford who will have high hopes of a victory.

The young horse was second by a head when missing out to Chindit in the Chasemore Farm Fortune Stakes at Sandown Park in late September, with the horse also clinching another runner-up spot when running home behind Angel Bleu in the William Hill Celebration Miles Stakes over one mile on soft ground.

Regal Reality has landed just one win from five outings this season although the horse was prominent when finishing second out of six runners in the Joel Stakes at Newmarket. It was no mean feat to be runner-up against favourite Mutasaabeq, with the 16/1 shot only missing out by a head in this race.
