The Betfred Dahlia Stakes is a Group 2 encounter at Newmarket Racecourse which is run over one mile and one furlong. Elmalka is among the market leaders, with the horse finishing fourth out of six runners at the beginning of October. The runner was only three lengths off the pace and this came after finishing fourth out of nine in the Nassau Stakes.

Running Lion was second out of eleven runners and it was a fine performance at Longchamp back in October. The horse was less than a length from sealing a victory in the Prix de l'Opera Longines. The horse performed admirably to register sixth place in the Hampton Court Stakes over one mile and two furlongs.
