Breeders Cup Turf Betting Odds

The Breeders’ Cup Turf takes place over one mile and four furlongs, with fourteen runners set to tussle it out in this Grade One encounter. There’s an enormous pot of £2 million for the winning connections, with Minnie Hauk looking like the horse most likely to triumph. The three-year-old has been installed as the strong favourite to win.

Rebel’s Romance has won four of the past five outings, with Charlie Appleby saddling a seven-year-old who is vastly experience and could have all the outstanding qualities. Goliath has been in the winners’ enclosure a couple of times, with there being a big jump in the prices to Amiloc and Wimbledon Hawkeye.

2025 Breeders’ Cup Turf Betting Tips

Minnie Hauk has been an impressive performer this season. Aidan O’Brien has a real jewel in the crown, with the filly having come so close to an Arc de Triomphe success in early October. That came after a straightforward win in the Yorkshire Oaks, with that coming after a success in the Irish Oaks at a very short price.

The filly ran well in the Arc when finishing second to outsider Daryz, with just a head separating the two runners. We’re also talking about a runner who won the Epsom Oaks and there was a May Cheshire Oaks win to boot. All things considered, we can’t pick a weakness although the odds imply only a 50% chance of success.

Rebel’s Romance certainly has the credentials to run a big race. Charlie Appleby saddles a horse who was able to last deliver the goods at Belmont Park. The odds-on shot was able to score in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes and there was lots to like about a three and a half length success. That came after scoring at Hoppegarten and that was after a Hardwicke Stakes win at Royal Ascot.

Goliath could be a giant of a horse when it comes to the Breeders’ Cup Turf, with the French raider having some solid credentials. In September, the charge was able to oblige at Baden-Baden, with that coming after a runner-up spot at Deauville. The horse did underwhelm at Saint-Cloud at the end of June after a bright effort at Longchamp in June.

Bet On Breeders’ Cup Turf 2020 Race

At the time of writing, Love has had a brilliant 2020 and it began in the 1,000 Guineas when the Aidan O’Brien-trained horse obliged at odds of 4/1 although those odds were set to shorten when it came to future races, with the bookies taking few chances when it came to the next race.

Love claimed a massive victory in the Epsom Oaks when winning by nearly ten lengths and the price of 11/10 was still an absolute steal, while victory in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks was straightforward and the horse is likely to come here after running in the Arc de Triomphe.

Enable and Ghaiyyath Also Among Breeders’ Cup Turf Favourites

Enable won the Breeders’ Cup Turf race in 2018 and the John Gosden-trained horse has to be respected if she makes an appearance at Churchill Downs, although the gloss has recently come off the horse’s results after having her colours lowered in last year’s Arc de Triomphe and she was also beaten by Ghaiyyath in the Coral Eclipse.

Perhaps more credit should be given to Ghaiyyath for that win and there have been three successive victories secured at Newmarket, Sandown and York, with the Charlie Appleby-trained runner likely to put on a good showing in this clash.

The History of the Breeders’ Cup Turf Race

The Breeders’ Cup Turf race is one of the most prestigious races at the Breeders’ Cup meeting and this is second only to the Breeders’ Cup Classic when it comes to the prize money which is available for a race at this meeting.

The Turf race first took place in 1984, with the distance being 1.5 miles and history was made in 2018 when Enable landed the Breeders’ Cup Turf victory after previously winning the Arc de Triomphe in the same year.

Conduit and High Chaparral are the two horses that have achieved two successes in the race, with Frankie Dettori having scored five wins as a jockey and the Italian could yet add more victories to the record, with Aidan O’Brien having six winners as a trainer.

The Breeders’ Cup Turf race was first inaugurated in 1984 and it’s clearly one of the most prestigious races that takes place during the Breeders’ Cup meeting at Santa Anita.

There is a grand purse of $4,000,000 available in prize money, with Enable the latest winner of this race in 2018 and the wonder mare has also claimed two Arc de Triomphe titles.

Andre Fabre has also been successful in the Breeders’ Cup Turf in 2018 when saddling Talismanic, although Aidan O’Brien is the trainer who has enjoyed the most success and the Coolmore boss has triumphed on six different occasions.

There are various qualifying races where horses can earn a place in this race and Anthony Van Dyck will be lining up by virtue of having won the English Derby back in June.

This horse will form part of the O’Brien contingent at Santa Anita and it’s been an eventful season for the three-year-old who is currently available as the 9/2 favourite to win this prestigious race.

The victory at Epsom is the only time that the John Magnier-owned horse has triumphed although there was an encouraging performance at Leopardstown in the recent Irish Champion Stakes.

In that Group 1 encounter, Magical was the eventual winner for O’Brien, although Anthony Van Dyck ran into a creditable third place and thus finished ahead of several other good runners.

Speaking of Magical, this is likely to be another O’Brien horse in the race and we’ve plenty of good things from this charge who could well have Ryan Moore on board.

The four-year-old finished in fifth place when competing in the recent Arc and it was Donnacha O’Brien who was on board on that occasion considering that Moore instead chose to ride Japan who was a place better.

It will be interesting to see if the jockey makes the same choice for a race which is run over a mile and a half furlongs, with Arc winner Waldgeist among the runners who are likely to participate.

The horse is a 5/1 chance and lowered the colours of the mighty Enable in the Arc de Triomphe, with Andre Fabre now targeting this race in the United States of America and perhaps the charge will take a lot of beating.

In the end, Waldgeist won by nearly two lengths against Enable and the five-year-old had previously won at Longchamp and appears to be peaking perfectly to claim the spoils in big races such as this one.
