Mares Chase Betting Odds
The Mares' Chase has been in operation since 2021, with Willie Mullins having landed a success in three of the five renewals. Colreevy scored five years ago before Elimay was successful twelve months later. Last year, Dinoblue obliged and perhaps we'll see the horse return to the fray and claim a second successive victory.

2026 Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase Betting Tips This would not only mean being the first mare to win back-to-back races, she would also be the first nine-year-old to succeed in the race and the signals are good. In the 2025 race, Dinoblue was able to oblige by eight and a half lengths, with that coming before a monster thirty-five length triumph at Punchestown in early May.
More recently, there was an encouraging performance at Navan over two miles, with this coming in Grade 2 company in the Fortria Chase. The 11/8 favourite might have struggled with the testing ground when losing by five lengths behind Found A Fifty.
Spindleberry would also surely have a chance if lining up in this race, with the Willie Mullins-trained runner potentially being tilted at the Cheltenham Gold Cup . The level of performance has been outstanding thus far, with the latest effort coming at Clonmel in early November where the 2/5 favourite ran out as a facile winner.
That was over two miles and five furlongs, with connections knowing that a mares' allowance in the Gold Cup could allow the mare to make history. There were a spate of victories last term including a December 2024 success at Cork and that came before a February success at Leopardstown. It was a comfortable performance in the Colreevy Mares Novices' Chase.
The win at Fairyhouse in April was probably the most accomplished display of her career to date, with lots to like about a Grade One Gold Cup success where favourite Champ Kiely and Firefox were beaten comfortably. If the horse lines up in this race, we might expect the charge to go off as favourite.
2025 Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase Tips Dinoblue and Bioluminescence are the favourites to win the Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase and it’s hard to split them in the market. The former has run four times this season and she was successful last time out, with this coming by a neck against Allegorie De Vassy after finishing fourth in the Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase in December.
There was also a telling piece of form at Cork in early December when the horse was able to finish just ten lengths behind Energumene in the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase, with the runner having finished second in this race last term. However, Bioluminescence is another JP McManus-owned runner who has bold claims.
The seven-year-old was second out of five runners at Naas when finishing three and a half lengths off the pace, having triumphed in the Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase. Trainer Gavin Cromwell also has Limerick Lace running and her success in this race last term, with the horse having last appeared on New Year’s Day when twenty-five lengths behind Allegorie De Vassy.
However, we can’t overlook a horse who actually performed well in the Aintree Grand National last April, with Allegorie De Vassy trained by Willie Mullins and the runner was only a neck behind Dinoblue which suggests that she might be worth considering as the bigger priced selection, with price boosts sure to be available.
2024 Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase Tips The Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase will be run over two miles, four and a half furlongs, with Dinoblue looking like the one to beat this year. Although she only finished second in her previous outing, the bookies still greatly respect her chances, with the horse having finished second in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase at the Festival twelve months ago.
More recently, there was a smart performance when finishing second to El Fabiolo at the Dublin Racing Festival, with the horse getting relatively close to the odds-on favourite and that came after successive wins at Naas and Leopardstown. It’s hard to see what might beat her on the day, although Allegorie De Vassy can’t be easily discounted.
This pretender also runs for Willie Mullins and has won two of her three outings this year, with the latest being in a listed race at Naas where she was able to beat favourite Riviere D’etel. The latter will take her place in this encounter although she’s currently trading as the fourth favourite, with respect afforded to stablemate Limerick Lace.
The latter was a ten-length winner at Doncaster on her previous outing, with the horse having obliged as the 13/8 favourite in that Mares’ Chase and perhaps she represents good each-way value here. Back in November, there was another solid outing when the runner finished second behind Coko Beach when being sent off as the 4/1 market leader.
2023 Mares’ Chase Betting Tips There is likely to be a reasonably big field for the Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase and that means some big place value considering the bookies will be prepared to expand their each-way terms in order to drum up some final business for the Cheltenham Festival. Willie Mullins will hope to have secure the top trainers’ title by this race and Allegorie De Vassy runs for him here.
There is plenty to like about a six-year-old who has been foot perfect this season, with the horse winning a Novice Chase at Limerick Racecourse by an impressive nineteen lengths. That was over two miles, six furlongs on heavy ground, while it was followed by a virtually identical win when scoring at Thurles at the end of January.
However, Impervious can hold a candle to that form and she has enjoyed three straight wins including a Group 3 success in a novice chase when claiming the spoils at Punchestown in mid January. Previously to this, she was able to beat Dinoblue and the horse outran her odds in the Mares’ Novices Hurdle last year when finishing sixth at a big price.
Jeremys Flame has been in the winners’ enclosure several times this year and the latest success came at Huntingdon when scoring in a listed race at the end of January. The horse had previously found the going too tough when finishing fifth in the Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase at Leopardstown but might benefit from a drop in class here.
Concertista finished second in the Close Brothers Mares' Hurdle at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival and has now been sent over the bigger obstacles. Paul Townend for that narrow defeat and the eight-year-old is unbeaten over fences, with Sean O’Keefe having steered her to victory in a Novice Chase in early December.
There was another Novice Chase victory at Limerick Racecourse towards the end of December, although this will be a much stiffer test and perhaps Elimay could be a better Cheltenham Festival betting tip. The eight-year-old only lost this race by half a length last year and could come on for that particular run.
However, Mark Walsh was unable to steer Elimay to a victory on New Year’s Day when running in a Mares’ Chase on New Year’s Day, with Mount Ida the victor on that occasion and perhaps the Gordon Elliott-trained charge could be the best each-way betting value in the race.
Mount Ida was sent off as the 3/1 favourite in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase and duly obliged with a victory, with that Cheltenham success marking her out as a horse who has the course and distance already in the bag. The recent win against Elimay will strengthen the claim that the horse will run well here.
Riviere D’etel is another young horse who could be among the best Cheltenham Festival bets, with the five-year-old having run in esteemed company this season. The horse finished seventh in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the 2021 Cheltenham meeting and there have been three victories this season at Fairyhouse, Navan and Punchestown.
In the Racing Post Novice Chase on Boxing Day, the same runner finished second to Ferny Hollow over two miles and one furlong on soft ground, while the horse was a close second in the Irish Arkle Novices’ Chase, with connections now considering whether to go down this route or aim the horse at a different Cheltenham Festival target.
