2024 Wokingham Stakes Tips

Dark Trooper delivered the goods in the last race when the four-year-old was able to score at Saint-Cloud, with this coming in the Prix Wizz Kid. The 5/2 favourite had previously run three times at Doha, with the horse having last season landed four consecutive victories which included two triumphs at Ascot.

English Oak goes for Ed Walker and has registered two top-two finishes, with the latest run seeing the horse claim the spoils at Haydock. The 8/11 favourite enjoyed a four and a half length win and that came after finishing second at Newmarket over seven furlongs, with this runner certainly looking like one for the shortlist.

Fresh has plenty to prove after failing to hit the frame in any of three races this season, with James Fanshawe’s charge having finished fifth at Haydock Park in June. Previously to this, there was a relatively lowly finish at Newbury when finishing twelfth out of sixteen runners, although Albasheer could be a lively contender.

Archie Watson trains a horse who claimed back to back successes at the beginning of this season, with those successes coming on the all-weather at Newcastle. However, the runner found the going too hot to handle last time out when finishing ninth out of eleven horses at Chantilly in the Prix du Gros-Chene.

2023 Wokingham Stakes Tips

Orazio will have William Buick on board and the four-year-old was able to oblige as the 13/8 favourite when winning over six furlongs on soft ground. This was a comfortable win and it came after a 9/1 success in the Weatherbys Digital Solutions Handicap. The horse could represent each-way value although there are plenty of horses with a lively chance.

Khanjar was last seen running at Hamilton where the horse was sent off as the 5/4 favourite in a six furlong handicap race on good to firm ground. That came after a midfield finish in a York handicap encounter, with Jumby an interesting contender who was able to win the Sky Bet John of Gaunt Stakes over seven furlongs on good to firm ground.

Fresh is also set to line up here and was underwhelming when finishing 19th out of 22 runners at Ascot last time out. However, the James Fanshawe-trained was able to win successive races at the same racecourse last year, with Lethal Levi trading at a similar price and the horse was able to finish second last time out.

Perhaps Bielsa will be able to deliver again after emerging victorious at York last time out and that win came in a big field of twenty-one runners. This came after a second-placed finish at Redcar, with punters recommend to potentially take two or three runners against the field and the bookies will be offering extra places here.

2022 Wokingham Stakes Tips

James Fanshawe’s best chance of a 2022 Royal Ascot winner could be Fresh. The five-year-old turned out in the tote Victoria Cup and was sent off as a 7/1 shot before winding up in fourth place. Having made headway two furlongs out, the horse simply ran out of steam and found a handful too strong.

Previously to this, there was a runner-up performance on the all-weather at Kempton Racecourse, with Blackrod potentially the other horse to keep an eye on. This is a charge who is trained by Michael Dods and the four-year-old was able oblige in a recent handicap race at Newmarket.

There was also a win at York Racecourse in the Sky Bet Apprentice Handicap, with the horse knowing how to win after accruing four victories to date. Another horse with some wins to his name is Great Ambassador, with the experienced five-year-old potentially a good each-way wager here.

Ed Walker could have something special on his hands and the horse was second in the Ayr Gold Cup handicap after previously landing the spoils in a listed race at York. He was also sent off as favourite at Goodwood Racecourse, with this runner potentially the best each-way punt.
