Bethpage is named after the American golf course and Emma Lavelle trains a horse who was last seen performing well at Stratford. At the end of May, the runner was able to oblige in a small field over three miles, two and a half furlongs. That came after a second-placed finish at Market Rasen and there was previously a strong effort at Cheltenham.

Lime Avenue is going to go off as favourite when it comes to this Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, with the six-year-old returning to Wincanton Racecourse after previously obliging with a win here. That was a solid showing over three miles, half a furlong. Beating favourite Great Snow by three and a half furlongs was pretty substantial and there could be more to come.
