The All-Weather Sprint Handicap looks like an intriguing encounter and it could be favourite Cover Up who is able to record a victory. The four-year-old is bidding to secure a fourth successive victory and the latest of these came on the all-weather at Newcastle on 22 February, with the runner obliging as the odds-on favourite.

The 2023 All-Weather Sprint Championships is packed with quality horses and it will be interesting to see how the front two in the betting perform against each other once again. Annaf and Diligent Harry were separated by the smallest of margins when they last met, with the former able to score by a neck in a recent encounter at Lingfield Park.

That was over six furlongs and this is another race over the same distance. It will be interesting to see whether the Clive Cox-trained charge is able to frank the form, with the five-year-old previously winning at Newcastle all-weather in mid-February and that was an impressive win, although this is far from a two-horse encounter.

Vadream could be coming to the boil at the right time, with Charlie Fellowes having seen his horse progressively improve and the victory at Doncaster Racecourse on 1 April with a victory of four and a half lengths occurring. Kieran Shoemark was on board that time although he’s jumping off the horse to ride Diligent Harry.

Summerghand needs to find some improvement if he’s to oblige with a victory on the all-weather championships day, with Daniel Tudhope on board a runner who was last seen racing in Doha in the middle of February. However, there was little over a length separating this horse compared to Annaf and perhaps there is more value in backing the bigger-priced runner.
