Hackwood Stakes Betting Odds

Regional, Elite Status and Lake Forest are the three horses trading at the shortest odds for a six furlong encounter, with the Hackwood Stakes run over six furlongs. This Group 3 encounter is set to feature roughly a dozen runners, with Diligent Harry and James’s Delight also potential contenders for what should be a fast-run race.

The latter has claimed back-to-back successes and there could also be more to come from seven-year-old Commanche Falls, with Twilight Calls a talented six-year-old who appears for Henry Candy, with Kind Of Blue among the bigger-priced alternatives and it wouldn’t be a big surprise if a runner at large odds was able to claim a victory.

2024 Hackwood Stakes Tips

Regional has recorded back-to-back second places this season, with the six-year-old having performed well for Edward Bethell this term. There was a smart showing in the King Charles III Stakes at Ascot where the runner performed well over five furlongs and he managed to finish in front of Big Evs after previously running well at the Curragh.

The latter performance came in May in the Weatherbys Ireland Greenland Stakes, with the horse narrowly finishing runner-up over six furlongs. However, Elite Status is a younger adversary with strong claims and there was a firm victory against thirteen other runners at Newbury when triumphing by nearly three lengths.

Lake Forest was second in his last showing when running well at the Royal Ascot meeting, with the 12/1 shot finishing just behind Inisherin in the Commonwealth Cup over six furlongs, with victories coming at York and Haydock last year. This is the third horse trading at a similar price although there could be others in contention.

Diligent Harry has failed to win any of his previous three outings and the six-year-old will be bidding to make an impression this time around, with James’s Delight looking like a bright contender to secure a win at Deauville where twelve other runners were beaten. This came after a victory at York over six furlongs.

2023 Hackwood Stakes Tips

Commanche Falls was triumphant at The Curragh in early July, with the horse sent off as the 5/4 favourite in the Jebel Ali Racecourse & Stables Dash Stakes over six furlongs. The runner was able to win by one and a quarter lengths on that occasion, with the horse previously finishing third in the 1895 Duke of York Clipper Stakes at York.

Lezoo’s recent form has hardly been convincing although the three-year-old was in esteemed company when competing in the Commonwealth Cup. The horse finished tenth in that Royal Ascot encounter, with the horse having finished eighth in the 1000 Guineas Stakes over one mile, with the runner potentially showing his class.

Tiber Flow could be another one for the betting shortlist, with the four-year-old having finished third in the Coral Charge at Sandown Park on 8 July, with this being a smart performance over five furlongs. The horse was previously a winner in the Chipchase Stakes over six furlongs when being sent off as the 5/2 favourite.

Rohaan is a year older and makes a quick return to the track after a previous run at Ascot in July. The horse was seventh in a Heritage Handicap at Ascot in mid July, with the David Evans-trained charge having previously been outclassed in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, with the horse needing to recover his 2022 form.
