2026 Middle Distance Veterans Handicap Betting Tips

Eldorado Allen has enjoyed a decorated career and continues to have the winning habit. The horse triumphed over two miles and four furlongs at Cheltenham in November. It was a four and a half length success on soft ground, with this coming before a disappointing effort at the same track a month later. However, he could be the one to beat at Market Rasen on Friday.

Filanderer collected a clutch of wins last season and the ten-year-old was able to score at Ffos Las at the end of October. The sixteen length success was highly impressive although then proved underwhelming at Newbury. Perhaps this was just an aberration considering the spate of successes that had been previously enjoyed.

2024 Middle Distance Series Veterans' Handicap Chase Tips

Shan Blue and Millers Bank are the two favourites to win the 2024 Middle Distance Series Veterans' Handicap Chase, with the former trained by Dan Skelton and the horse claimed third place in his previous outing. In the Howden Handicap Chase, the runner was able to produce a respectable performance to finish narrowly behind Triple Trade and Harper’s Brook.

Previously to this, there were three consecutive occasions where the horse was pulled up. The other horse trading at a similar price is Millers Bank, with the runner finishing third out of three competitors when being defeated by West Balboa and Brewin’upastorm. That came after being pulled up in the Marsh Chase at Aintree back in April.

Cepage was pulled up at Warwick back in January, although perhaps we can draw a line through that particular run, with the Venetia Williams-trained runner having won at Cheltenham in mid-December. It was a smart seven-length victory in the Unibet Middle Distance Chase Series Veterans' Handicap Chase and we will once again see Charlie Deutsch on board.

Champagne Mystery was second in his last outing and the Tom George-trained runner has to stand a good each-way chance, with the horse having gone under new ownership after a spate of impressive wins in France. It’s always hard to compare French form with the British track record, although second place in the Prix General Donnio at Auteuil was impressive.
