Irish Arkle Betting Odds
Although nine horses are entered for the Irish Arkle Novice Chase, the field can be reduced down to four potential winners. They include Romeo Coolio who has notched three successive wins and the seven-year-old is likely to go off as favourite at Leopardstown. However, Kopek Des Bordes won last season's Supreme Novices' Hurdle and could be a viable contender.
Kargese has run well this season and this is another Willie Mullins-trained runner who is trading at a short price, having landed a victory and a runner-up spot this season. Then we have Irish Panther who is trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, with the runner having already secured a couple of notable wins this season.
2026 Irish Arkle Betting Tips
Romeo Coolio is a quality operator who has bagged three wins already this term. The Gordon Elliott-trained charge was the victor at Punchestown on Boxing Day when scoring in the Racing Post Novice Chase. This success came after an eight length triumph in the Drinmore Novice Chase over two miles and four furlongs. The 8/15 favourite was far too strong for the rest of the field.
Kopek Des Bordes has only run once this season and the Willie Mullins-trained charge was a fairly comfortable winner at Navan in mid-November. That success in a Beginners Chase over two miles and a furlong was to be expected, although the charge remains relatively unproven over the big obstacles. His hurdling form suggests he could be something special.
Kargese is another Mullins-trained runner who is a hot contender for this race and the mare will benefit from a weight allowance against her male peers. The 5/6 favourite was a long way behind Kala Conti at Cork in early December, although she was able to triumph by a massive fourteen lengths at Leopardstown in a Beginners Chase.
We can't discount Irish Panther considering the nine-year-old has twice been in the winners' enclosure this season. There was only half a length separating the horse from Romeo Coolio at Leopardstown on Boxing Day, with that coming after a big success at Naas. Sent off at 5/1, the horse was successful by an eight-length margin on soft ground.
2025 Irish Arkle Novice Chase Tips
The Irish Arkle Novice Chase is one of the biggest races at the 2025 Dublin Racing Festival, with Majborough installed as the market leader. The five-year-old was able to claim a victory at Fairyhouse last time out, with that victory coming by six and a half lengths in a Beginners Chase when being sent off at even money.
Let’s not forget that the horse was able to also win the JCB Triumph Hurdle, with the runner sent off at odds of 6/1 before beating Kargese on heavy ground. The runner ran well at the Dublin Racing Festival last year when finishing third in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle, with this one certainly looking tough to beat.
Ile Atlantique is an older adversary who could be considered as a viable alternative at a bigger price. Willie Mullins also trains this horse and there have been a couple of smart wins thus far this season, with the latest being a strong effort at Naas in early January after seeing off a big field of runners at Waterford before Christmas.
Inthepocket and Touch Me Not are available at similar prices, with Henry de Bromhead training the former and the runner has twelve lengths to find on Ile Atlantique after the pair clashed at Naas. Meanwhile, there was a victory for the latter at Punchestown in late November before a solid effort at Sandown in early December.
2024 Irish Arkle Novice Chase Tips
Marine Nationale has the racing world at his feet, with the seven-year-old having won all six races of a fledgling career to date. The latest win came at Leopardstown where the horse landed a victory by eight and a half lengths when winning a Beginners Chase during the festive season, with the horse making all the running and posting a significant win.
Previously to this came a win in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle where the six-year-old was able to achieve a victory in this Cheltenham Festival opener when seeing off favourite Facile Vega and a host of other runners. There were previously wins at Fairyhouse and Punchestown, with the bookies making this horse the one to beat.
Gaelic Warrior enjoyed back to back wins this season, with a win coming at Limerick in December when winning the Faugheen Novice Chase by five and a half lengths. This came after obliging as the 4/11 favourite in a Beginners Chase at Punchestown, with the horse’s only recent defeat being in the Ballymore Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham.
Il Etait Temps finished second to Gaelic Warrior at Limerick last time out and that was after a victory at Thurles at the end of November. However, the horse was nine lengths behind Marine Nationale in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and has plenty to find based on that performance, with Quilixios another for the shortlist.
2023 Dublin Chase Betting Tips
Can anyone stop Blue Lord winning the 2023 Ladbrokes Dublin Chase? The eight-year-old has been largely flawless over the past couple of years. At the Leopardstown Christmas Festival, the horse was excellent when winning the Paddy's Rewards Club Chase and the 2/1 shot was able to triumph by a full eleven lengths to demonstrate that this is a high-calibre horse.
The horse won the Clonmel Oil Chase in November when touching off Tornado Flyer, Darasso and Pencilfulloflead. Last season, the horse signed off with a victory in the Barberstown Castle Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival and this came after finishing third in the Arkle which was a competitive race won by the talented Edwardstone.
Energumene is a class act who could go well at a bigger price and this is a horse that has reserved some of his best performances for Irish racecourses. Willie Mullins will be hopeful that the nine-year-old will be suited to the two mile and one furlong trip, with the horse enjoying a three-race winning run and this includes a victory in the 2022 Queen Mother Champion Chase.
Gentleman De Mee is another Willie Mullins-trained runner and the JP McManus-owned horse has struggled to find form in recent outings. After beating Edwardstone at Aintree last April, there were high hopes that the horse could be a big contender this season. However, the horse unseated his rider at Naas before underwhelming performances at Sandown and Leopardstown.
2023 Irish Arkle Betting Tips
The 2023 Goffs Irish Arkle Novice Chase looks to be a really exciting race and Dysart Dynamo heads the betting market. The seven-year-old was actually sent off as the joint-favourite in last year’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. While Constitution Hill was a runaway winner, the Willie Mullins-trained charge was a faller and the horse then ran badly at Punchestown the following month.
However, the runner enjoyed a return to form when winning a Beginners Chase by twenty-eight lengths. There will be a stiffer test when it comes to this race, with El Fabiolo having landed a facile victory at Fairyhouse in December, although there was also plenty to like about the win that occurred at Punchestown in a novice hurdle in April.
Appreciate It struggled in the 2022 Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and the nine-year-old then scored a Beginners Chase victory at Punchestown back in December. There was also a Novice Chase success at Naas although the horse remains something of an unknown quantity over the bigger obstacles.
Banbridge recently scored back to back successes, with victories coming at Gowran Park and Cheltenham, with the horse finishing third in the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase behind Mighty Potter and Gaillard Du Mesnil. Previously there was a Novices’ Chase win at Cheltenham and we think this is a wide open encounter with lots of lively chances.
