VRC Oaks Betting Odds

The third day of the VRC Spring Carnival includes the Kennedy Oaks and we’re looking forward to some of the best three-year-old fillies battling it out over 2,500 metres. There’s a nice amount of prize money up for grabs, with this race happening just days after the excitement of the Melbourne Cup earlier in the week.

Renaissance Women is a New Zealand raider who could take some stopping, although the leading Australian horse racing betting sites make this an open contest. There are several other runners trading at single figure betting odds, with this race being a strong test of stamina and it will be interesting to see which way the money goes.

2022 Kennedy Oaks Tips

Renaissance Woman heads the betting market for the 2022 Kennedy Oaks, with Bjorn Baker having a talented filly on his hands. Although she has never raced at Flemington Racecourse, her performance at Caulfield was an eye-catching one. She was sent off at 4/1 in the Schweppes Ethereal Stakes on 15 October before landing a victory.

The three-year-old saw off Foxy Cleopatra although there was less than a length between these horses in this Group Three encounter over one mile and two furlongs. Previously to this, Renaissance Woman was sent off at enormous odds of 60/1 in the Group 1 Darley Flight Stakes, although she did herself every credit in that race.

Foxy Cleopatra will be aiming to frank the form from the Schweppes Ethereal Stakes and the Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained runner is sure to be a warm order for this encounter, while So Dazzling is an interesting contender. She lined up in the recent Kennedy Oaks Preview on 18 September and claimed a victory as the 3/1 favourite.

She’s Extreme has bags of experience for a three-year-old filly and there was a second-placed finish in the Darley Flight Stakes in the same race as Renaissance Woman finished further down the field. Anthony Cummings could have the best each-way selection in the race and we’d side with her to run a big race here.
