Coventry Stakes Betting Odds

There are some high-quality races on Day One of the 2025 Royal Ascot meeting and that includes the Coventry Stakes. This is a six-furlong showdown which is open for two-year-olds and it looks to be a competitive heat. Postmodern might go off as the favourite, although Treanmor has bold claims and has run well in a short career to date.

Charles Darwin is available at a slightly bigger price, with Military Code also catching the eye of each-way bettors. We might see Gstaad among the leading contenders, with Naval Light and Underwriter making this a top-class affair. Royal Ascot betting sites will be providing odds boosts and extra places when it comes to this race.

2025 Coventry Stakes Betting Tips

After the excitement of the Queen Anne Stakes on Day 1 of the Royal Ascot meeting, we now have the Coventry Stakes. This is a Group 2 encounter over six furlongs, with a maximum of twenty-eight runners battling it out over this short distance. Postmodern looks to be a lively contender and was successful on his debut.

The two-year-old landed the spoils at Yarmouth in May when achieving a five-length success at odds of 18/5, with trainer Hamad Al Jehani hoping for another big run. Treanmor was also victorious on his debut although this win was largely anticipated. A massive odds-on favourite, the horse was a comfortable four-length victor.

Charles Darwin has more experience under his belt and the Aidan O’Brien-trained charge was able to prosper at Naas in May. It was a given that the horse would win this encounter, with that coming after an April win at Navan where the 8/11 favourite was able to score by five and a half lengths. There was previously a run at the Curragh.

Military Code is a Godolphin horse who could also be in the final shake-up. There was a success at Ascot in May, with the 8/11 favourite obliging over five furlongs. It was a narrow triumph by a neck, with this coming after an April victory at Newmarket. This was a one and a half length success as a 6/1 shot.

2024 Coventry Stakes Tips

Some of the best two-year-olds in the land will battle it out in the Coventry Stakes, with Camille Pissarro the horse regarded as having the best chance of victory. This horse has only made one appearance thus far, claiming a victory at Navan towards the end of April when triumphing over six furlongs against ten other runners.

The next horse in the betting is Cowardofthecounty and this Joseph O’Brien-trained runner was also able to win in a field of eleven runners recently. This two-year-old claimed a victory by two and a half lengths at the Curragh over six furlongs. Sent off at odds of 17/2, he was able to get the better of Whistlejacket and the latter also lines up here.

This is another Aidan O’Brien-trained runner who was able to win at the Curragh in early May, obliging over five furlongs as the 5/6 favourite when competing in a listed race. This came after that previous outing at the Curragh and perhaps he will be able to frank the form this time around and come through at a nice price.

The next horses in the betting market is Andesite and Yah Mo Be There. The former is trained by Karl Burke and claimed a victory in his only race at York when winning an eleven-runner race. That was over six furlongs, with the latter finishing a short head behind this charge and the two could easily make the frame here.

2023 Coventry Stakes Tips

We’re all set for Day One of the 2023 Royal Ascot meeting, with River Tiber having recorded successive wins at Navan and Naas leading into this race. The two-year-old was a comfortable winner at the former when obliging by ten lengths, with the horse then largely untested when getting the job done in a five-furlong encounter when sent off at short odds.

Asadna has only had one outing so far but there was plenty to like about a recent win at Ripon. The George Boughey-trained charge was able to score over six furlongs when winning a Novice Stakes by twelve furlongs. However, it’s hard to yield a lot of information from that solitary encounter and Unquestionable looks to be better value.

This two-year-old is another Aidan O’Brien-trained runner who was successful at The Curragh last time out when winning a maiden race over six furlongs. Sent off as the 4/6 favourite, Ryan Moore was able to steer the charge to a victory by more than four lengths and that was an improvement on the original outing where the horse finished third.

Royal Ascot wouldn’t be Royal Ascot without an American raider or two. Therefore, we have a Wesley Ward-trained charge potentially lining up and this one is aptly named American Rascal. We can’t really discern a great deal from a three-runner race where the charge won as expected, although we’ve seen Ward saddle winners at Ascot before.

2022 Coventry Stakes Tips

Persian Force was last seen in a three-runner race at Newbury where the two-year-old obliged in the BetVictor Condition Stakes. Having been sent off as 8/13 favourite, it doesn’t tell us a huge amount about the horse’s prospects here, although a comfortable win at Doncaster in March over five furlongs means that he’s one for the shortlist here.

Noble Style runs in the familiar Godolphin colours and the Charlie Appleby-trained runner was the 6/4 winner of the Jemima Howden Novice Stakes, with an impressive finish at Ascot potentially suggesting this is the horse to back each-way when it comes to the 2022 Coventry Stakes.

Aidan O’Brien will undoubtedly experience some success over the five-day Royal Ascot meeting and perhaps his first winner will come in this race. Little Big Bear finished second in an Irish Maiden before winning at Naas in May and perhaps this represents Ireland’s best chance of success in this encounter.

2021 Coventry Stakes Betting Tips

Trainer Clive Cox scored a rare Royal Ascot winner last year in the 2020 Coventry Stakes when winning with Nando Parrado, with the horse winning at amazing betting odds of 150/1 and one wonders if they’ll be a similar shock this time around considering that the field once again looks wide open.

Some of the leading bookmakers have started to provide Royal Ascot antepost betting odds when it comes to the 2021 Coventry Stakes, with punters able to back any horse at 9/1 or bigger considering the field is yet to be confirmed for a race that traditionally takes place on Day One of the Royal Ascot meeting.

Cadamosto Heads the 2021 Coventry Stakes Betting Market

Part of the reason why this race is often unpredictable is that it’s a two-year-old encounter and some of the juveniles in the encounter have barely had an outing before stepping foot on the Ascot racetrack, with no form next to their names on the Royal Ascot racecard.

Cadamosto has been installed as the antepost Coventry Stakes betting favourite and it’s hardly a surprise to see an Aidan O’Brien-trained horse as the market leader, with the runner having performed brightly on the all-weather track at Dundalk to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over seven furlongs.

Ryan Moore is likely to be on board for the horse for this six furlong dash, although there are lots of other viable contenders and that includes Masseto who is trained by Donnacha O’Brien so we might well see a victory for one family member come 15th June.

Masseto has only one run to his name although this was a maiden victory at Navan at the end of April and the horse has therefore earned his opportunity to line up in the 2021 Coventry Stakes where he’s likely to be among the favourites.

Berkshire Shadow, Tenebrism and Navello Also Among Favourites

Trainer Andrew Balding has never won the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, although his father Ian Balding scored a famous success with the legendary Mill Reef in 1970 and perhaps the former will follow in his footsteps with the aptly-named Berkshire Shadow who is likely to take his chances in this race.

The two-year-old had his first proper outing at Newbury Racecourse on 16 April where we saw the horse make all the running and oblige at betting odds of 9/2, with Oisin Murphy on board the charge on that occasion and we might see the same booking here.

Tenebrism is another Aidan O’Brien charge who has to be respected and he scored a maiden victory at Naas on 28 March, while Navello is already an experienced two-year-old after four outings to date and the most recent of these took place at Chester where the horse obliged as the 5/4 favourite.
