Bet on the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate at Kenilworth

The L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate is one of the most prominent horse races at Kenilworth Racecourse and there is now a L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Festival which tends to take place in early January. The Festival itself takes place over two days and it’s a real spectacle where there are roughly eight races on the card for each day.

The 2022 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate was the 161th running of this race and it first took place in 1861 where there was a prize of five hundred sovereigns, along with a plate donated by Queen Victoria.

Bet on the Cape Metropolitan Stakes at Kenilworth Racecourse

The Cape Metropolitan Stakes takes place at Kenilworth Racecourse and this has been in operation since 1883, with this race being run over 2,000 metres. There is a purse of R5 Million, with the runners competing around a left-handed track and it’s an exciting battle on the turf.

The race is also known as the Sun Met and there’s the chance to bet on Sun Met horse racing odds, with the prices always available in the days leading up to the race. The Sun Met is regarded as one of the three prominent South African horse races along with the Vodacom Durban July and Summer Cup.
